No.your right they are not compulsory. So why would she lie?

because of people like you?

meditrina · 14/03/2019 07:41

State schools cannot refuse to admit any child of compulsory school age.

Schools can state that 'X% of parents who provided the information say their DC are fully vaccinated according to NHS schedule' but I'm not sure how useful that actually is. It forms no part of the Admissions Code for state school, so you can't choose on that basis, and is one of those things where previous years' info is utterly useless in predicting future years. So even if you wanted a place on exceptional medical need, I'm not sure if it could be a clinching argument.

Cathmidston · 14/03/2019 07:44

Wow ...another goody vaccine thread Hmm

I had to produce proof from the GP that mine were vaccinated, surely schools haven't started relying on the words of patents. confused

Atm vaccines are a personal choice and there is no requirement to have them to attend any state school.

As for the nursery, if they were that bothered, she’d have to show proof. And as your clearly pro vax and she isn’t, I can’t imagine for a second she confide in you that she lied to the nursery Hmm so I’m guessing this is some made up bollox

capaciousbladder · 14/03/2019 07:44

They are not compulsory, however the nursery does have a duty of care to the other children, so being aware is a fair request from them. You would tell them if she gave her child peanuts to take in secretly despite knowing that's against the rules too.
Lying to get your own way in this situation is abhorrent. She needs to send her child to a childcare setting which shares her non science based beliefs above the safety of children.
You are not being unreasonable. You are being responsible. Please do it.

ThreeBagsFullofWool · 14/03/2019 07:45

Tell the nursery.

Cathmidston · 14/03/2019 07:46

Goady! 🙈

JassyRadlett · 14/03/2019 07:49

Cath, could you do the troll hunting through the proper channels?

We are all of course open for business on why viruses don’t exist, but troll hunting is not only tedious, it’s against talk guidelines.

Cathmidston · 14/03/2019 07:53

I don’t think she’s a troll, I just don’t believe her post is remotely accurate

You think the post is both goady and untrue. You think she’s trolling. Report it, don’t derail on the thread.

MyBoiledEggIsTooSoft · 14/03/2019 10:14

Just wow! I cannot believe this woman. As a pp has said, apart from the risk to others, what if her child gets poorly and the nursery has to call a doctor? The first question they ask is “is your child up to date with his/her immunisations?”

LindaLa · 14/03/2019 10:18

Really fucks me off when people do this.

If you don't want your child protected, fine but don't lie about it because you don't want that conversation.

I'm assuming she herself is vaccinated? Just lulling up the ladder behind her.

Please tell the nursery.

LindaLa · 14/03/2019 10:19

PULLING up the ladder!!

havingtochangeusernameagain · 14/03/2019 10:20

She says she lied to the nursery yet you assume she is telling you the truth?

havingtochangeusernameagain · 14/03/2019 10:21

In the UK? I've never had to show any evidence that I or my ds have been vaccinated against anything.
