To ask for any tips on helping anxiety?

I've had anxiety for the past two years since an event gave me PTSD. I wondered if anyone has any tips on how to deal with it naturally.

When I'm busy or in company I'm fine, but alone at night it gets terrible.

Any tips for getting rid of it, or at least helping it?

I try to distract myself (reading or podcasts) I also practice a lot of self soothing and rationalising. I avoid triggers too like caffeine at night, things that I shouldn’t watch on TV etc. I try to have a nice routine too

I was having tons of panic attacks I think triggered by palpitations and asthma inhalers and really got sick of it. It was claiming a lot of my life. I went to the GP who tried to give me anti depressants which I didn’t want.

Turned out in the end I was very anaemic! So I feel physically better now having started iron tablets. Have you seen your GP to discuss your situation? Any counselling? CBT is good for anxiety

I use the Mel Robbins 5 second rule quite a few times in my daily life. Especially when I get anxious at night.

You need to train yourself how to recognise when your thoughts are running away with themselves and this is definitely the hardest thing. Flicking the switch to question yourself and say, 'Hang on a second- why am I anxious right now' or, 'I need to stop these thoughts now'

It's been so so helpful. Sometimes I let my thoughts run away with themselves & like any new technique it will take you a while to grab the reins on your thoughts but, when it works it's very very good and it's honestly changed my life.

By the way it costs absolutely no money. It's just about teaching yourself to rein in your thoughts, count to 5 slowly and internally and change the direction of your thoughts.

You can find free videos on YouTube by the way. Loads of them :)

Agree with above
I really question myself if I am being a dickhead about something
Or set myself a timer - ok so if you haven’t had that heart attack in 2 mins you probably are not having one...

I find mindfulness helps - training yourself to stay in the "present moment" and grounding if it's really bad.
Eg five things you can see, feel, hear.
So if you were thoughts racing when for example, cars passing, birds tweeting, your footsteps etc.
Sounds daft but it pulls you out of your overthinking to the now when you get used to doing it!
Activities such as colouring helps too. Or reading.
Nice big mug of cocoa as well before bed. relaxing

Read something beautiful before you go to sleep. Try to bring your mind back to beautiful and positive thoughts. Listen to positive speakers on you tube eg Dali lama, or anyone who you find calming.
I’ve been there and still get it at times of stress.

CBD Oil helps my anxirty massively. I use Love Dutch, 2 sprays under the tongue 3 times a day. This will take away my physical symptoms (waking with racing heart, butterflies in my tummy and IBSA symptoms) within a few days.

Watch comedies etc- do what it takes to trigger happy feelings to counteract the anxiety. When I was bad, I would watch comedians on YouTube as soon as I woke for a few minutes, just to break that cycle.

Meditation can help. These are good:
