about a toddler tantrum

Ridiculous and trivial ...

DS (3 1/2) had a tantrum in the bath because a bottle of shower gel was shower gel and not bubble bath.

He kept asking me what it was and every time I responded "shower gel" he said "no, it's bubble bath". He then told me I was making him cross and wanted his dad. DH comes in and he asked what it was and DH said "ok then its bubble bath".

What would you do?

AIBU to insist it is what it is? Or is DH BU for giving into a tantrum?

I did warn you it's ridiculous and trivial!

@ShaggyRug that is exactly what I'm going to do from now on: "do you want the truth or a nasty little lie, my darling".

@Igottastartthinkingbee Bees don't lie. You're a disgrace to your username.

You should change to Igottastartthinkingcat... cats lie, they're full of deceit.

@nombrecambio Grin if nothing else it buys you time and gets them thinking Grin

I'm with you OP!
It's not bubble bath! Shower gel doesn't bubble in the same way. If I lied and said yes it's bubble bath no doubt he would be unimpressed with the lack of bubbles.
I would probably end up saying 'ok we can call it bubble bath tonight'

That’s true, bees strike me as very honest creatures, I apologise!

I'm also very stubborn and I'd have said "it's LIKE bubble bath".
My 4 yo (who's in school) would have insisted. At that point I'd have said "of course you know best because you're FOUR".

I hope you'd have used an exaggerated sarcastic tone.

Of course!
