Hello,

Really, just my question :)

From birth, one of us would hold them under the water and then pass them to the other to dry/dress them etc. I hate the faff of baths myself and can't imagine why people go to all that time and trouble. I think the upshot if it is they were never worried about getting water on their faces and so were excellent swimmers and we never had the screaming palava in the showers after swimming lessons that most parents seemed to have.

5 year old has a shower every night. Just started a few months ago. 3 year old has a bath. Reason for change was they go to bed at the same time, so we use to bath them together but they're getting too big now, and it was constant arguments about s/he kicked me/splashed me/pinched my toy etc. So much less stressful doing them both separately with the eldest in the shower.

Never Grin my DS is 18 now & still has a bath every day despite having is own en-suite shower, he just prefers a bath!

Dd is 16 and only showers if there is absolutely no time for even a quick bath. She has never liked the shower and always bathes.

We started showering some nights aged 2. She was in a shower in the bath so had her toys to play with still rather than being in a shower cubicle. She has always preferred a bath but we insist on a shower if time is limited, which is about half the time.

From a few months old. DP in shower held baby, I soaped baby, DP rinsed baby and I took baby and dried him. Now toddling ds stands on rubber mat in shower.

Around 4/5 but now as teens they'd love a soak ; we only have showers though

I think my DD was about 4 when I started sometimes doing a shower instead of a bath but she'd still choose a bath over a shower every time (she's 8). We do a shower on nights when there's no time for a bath or if she's really tired.
