DD (nearly 2)has woken up coughing, crying each time she coughs so it's clearly causing her discomfort, asked DP to come help me give her some Calpol. He said I don't think she'll have it. I try any way she kicks up a fuss starts getting really upset. While I'm trying to settle her down he pipes up with "I told she wouldn't have it she's to unsettled"

AIBU to say that saying I told you so isn't really necessary while I'm trying to help our child. She's a toddler she's not going to know what's best, she's just getting upset that her sleep keeps getting disturbed.

Well, seeing as she had the meds and isn’t coughing, you should’ve gloated back ‘I told you so!’

There is nothing worse than a sick, unsettled child who is in pain and an 'I told you so' husband.

I co-sleep with DS2 and last time he had a cold/chest infection I was covered in sticky honey, Vicks, snot, and barf and called for DH at 3 am.

He took 10 minutes getting up, got us some water, then listed (half awake) all the things he would do differently.

He really is the most amazing dad and made me stay in bed the next day so I could catch up on sleep but I swear I could have drop-kicked his ass into eternity that night for being such a pompous arse.
