To take my son's shoes back to Clarks as they don't fit properly?

Got my 8yo measured and fitted with some new school shoes on the weekend. All seemed good, he'd only grown 0.5 a size according to them.

Paid £33 and he's complained all week that they're too small, rubbing on his toes and heels and making his feet hurt. I keep saying they'll "give" but now I'm starting to think they are actually too small and we should have tried a size up, too.

Would it be unreasonable for me to take him back to the shop this weekend and ask for a re-fit and possible exchange, even tho he's worn them all week?

You can only try. If you say they have mismeasured him in store they should swap then out just fine.

Clarks are usually pretty good with this; did you keep the note with the size on that they give you at the fitting? Just helps prove they got it wrong if they refit and see there’s an issue.

My DH bought DD1 some shoes there once, fitted at a 7E, had new shoes fitted, wore them out of the shop and to play in the garden. I got home realised they were massive and loose, checked size and they’d got a 7G. Took them back the next day and they exchanged them with no issues at all, and apologised for the inconvenience.

Ah that's reassuring then @Cheby

I didn't get a slip with the size on this time, but remember the guy and his name, and have the receipt.

Fingers crossed they'll be good about it then, as really don't want to have to shell out another £33 a week later!
