To think I need to see a doctor?

Or am I overreacting?
I'm 20, always tired- to the point I find it hard to do things (even fun things!) and on days off will often sleep all night & day 10pm-5pm with no breaks or food.

If I go to work I am exhausted by the end and find it hard to function/make myself dinner. I can't manage 2 days in a row, luckily all jobs I've had have been part time and had a day or two off between!

I have had my blood tested, vitamins and thyroid are fine. I have a heart murmur diagnosed when young but it's never been brought up by my doctor at any appointments. I find it hard to catch my breath sometimes and feel like my chest is tight/heart racing.

I regularly get dizzy/forget simple words.

I do have epilepsy but haven't had a seizure for 2 years and it's fully controlled by meds.

I'm feeling so awful tonight (tight chest, exhausted to the point of feeling dizzy and confused- I slept all night until 1pm today too!)

I was thinking potentially a form of diabetes? I'm really not sure.

Is it worth bothering my GP again? I haven't been since December when she told me my bloods were fine. She didn't seem too concerned unfortunately. Just said to drink loads of water, eat healthy (which I do) and get good quality sleep.

Keppra can definitely make you tired and sleepy, though I guess that all this has come on a fair while after you started it. But it might not be helping — out maybe something else has changed so it's affecting you more.

But I guess since it's risky and tedious to change epilepsy meds, and they don't like doing it, that that's not something you can change.

*or maybe something

siestakey · 04/03/2019 01:18

@HowManyFlatCaps Yeah exactly, I've been on it since I was 14 and it's been really successful. (I only had a seizure 2 years ago as the pharmacy forgot to repeat my prescription and I didn't have meds for 3 days!)

My neurologist is really happy with the medicine too though I would have to change it if i got pregnant in the future as it can lead to defects (cleft lip).

Are you rural or do you spend a lot of time in the countryside, if so it might be worth looking at Lyme Disease. Unfortunately it's possible to not realise if you've been bitten by a tick.

Like other posters I really hope you get some answers soon, you are far too young to be miserable like this!

siestakey · 04/03/2019 01:39

@KendalMint not rural but we do walk a lot in the woods! I've no idea what Lyme disease is, I'll have a look.

Thank you, it really is awful- I feel like I can't do anything all the time and having to leave jobs due to being unable to fulfil the demands is so upsetting to me.
