To ask the biggest mistake you’ve made at work

Just wondering that really.

I got a death certificate done with the surname spelt wrongly. It was actually the doctor who wrote the certificates fault but I took it to be registered and didn’t notice. I got the blame. I cried ( a lot) the family were actually ok about it. Still feel absolutely awful about it I was only trying to help by doing the death registration in the first place.

DH managed to go half way round the world for work without the correct visa. He had to come home. I gather it was the secretary who did all the bookings who got blamed.
Personally I think DH should have worked out he needed a visa himself.

Did an operation on the wrong Guinea pig. Although I blame the nurses for not labelling the cages correctly. The guinea pig died, of course, as is Sod's law.

Going for the interview. Passive aggressive colleagues & management couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

Let the temporary customers insurance on a hire car run out by 2 minutes. It was crashed and we were landed with an 80k claim on our policy

This thread has cheered me up no end! I made a mistake at work a few weeks ago and have had massive anxiety about it ever since. Some of these blunders really put mine into perspective! Keep them coming!

I have read every word of this while waiting in A&E. I have been laughing out loud.

My boss forgot the 'l' in public ...... it was only noticed after he has spent ££££ on printing.
