I read his book recently and suspect if people knew what his life was like growing up, they'd be a bit more understanding about his previous behaviour. He actually put himself into foster care in the end. His mother suffered severe psychiatric illness throughout his childhood and the emotional abuse he suffered was appalling. Still, let's pick his bad teeth to bits eh?

Still can't believe the sheer nastiness on this thread. The lad has had poor mental health how would you feel if he read these comments and killed himself?
It's not the law to like someone but it should be against the law to be so nasty about someone's appearance on a public forum.

I agree. Hopefully his mental health is better now and he can ignore nasty comments. It's all just jealousy and people trying to feel better about themselves by putting others down.

I didn't know he was an ambassador for MIND. Thats a great thing to be, and hopefully people will be able to relate to him, especially young men with similar backgrounds.

It's easy to say some is 'just a scruffy dosser from x,y,z' but not so easy to drag yourself out of the gutter and have a career worth a lot of money, successfully write and record your own music, have collaborations with other artists and have the guts and the drive and the determination to do it all again when your first attempt at it didn't work out.

And find the time and inclination to support a vital charity, especially when the NHS just doesn't have money for mental health services.

He's not doing so bad really.

I think people are saying awful personal and insulting things about him eg he stinks. This thread wouldn’t stand if it was about Meghan Markle.

Fair play for him being an ambassador for Mind, it's great when someone who has had some bad times then good fortune in their life to do something positive for others, bravo! (but still looks like he needs a good wash :) )

frouby yes! I think people are stuck in the mindset of what he used to be. He also has done a lot of work for anti bullying not that I’m cyber stalking him of course

Seriously- just listen to Lewis Capaldi. Same gorgeous gravelly voice, better songs (that you can actually make out the words to) and fewer arsehole tendencies.

And as for the slurring dross that is Say You Won’t Let Go... it’s such a blatant rip-off of The Man Who Can’t Be Moved by The Script, I’m amazed they haven’t sued the bollocks off him and taken all his royalties.
