Cleaning products are now extortionate

I just went to buy some cleaning products that I usually use, and now because I'm assuming social media cleaning influencers such as Mrs Hinch are using them, they're now almost impossible to get hold of! I don't have anything against Mrs Hinch or anyone else at all, but for example on Amazon the 1001 carpet spray is selling at £9.16! And you can't get it anywhere else online cheaper from what I can see! It used to be £1! Why would people pay almost a tenner for carpet spray?! Is it just me, or have things gone a little crazy? AIBU to think charging almost 10x the cost of a cleaning product is a bit too far?

No yanbu- I’ve noticed this recently too, cleaning things seem to have shot up. Good old supply and demand and hysteria created by some (I’m sure lovely) housewife who is single handledly putting a new hole in the ozone layer.

Just get the own brand versions of most things, work just as well :)

I must admit I went hunting for some zoflora after seeing Mrs Hinch and there was none in any big Tesco's near me!Grin

IShitGlitter · 02/03/2019 01:58

yep its getting stupid! I wanted zoflora the other day and couldnt get any because people sheep see mrs hinch get about 5 at once and clear the shelf.

The Instagram cleaning and tidying people I follow are all into making their own cleaning products. Mind you, I've ordered white vinegar for cleaning by the 5 litres for ages now.

I buy mine in Lidl and they work just fine. Then again I'm not exactly a cleaning fanatic
