SiL had baby yesterday. Beautiful little girl, is at home now and mum and baby are both doing well.
I've bought loads of stuff over the course of her pregnancy and we are going to visit this evening.
She has everything she needs for baby (and more!) and I'm sure people will continue to buy stuff.

I didn't want to buy more baby stuff, so was considering getting something for SiL as I feel new mums deserve a treat just as much as baby.

I was thinking of doing a "goody bag" with some nice hot chocolate, snacks and stuff she likes, and some nice bath stuff.
What else could I get her? Any ideas welcome!

I always take a bag of really posh ready meals from waitrose or somewhere like COOK. Food is always the best of presents in my book and it's nice to be able to pull a proper meal our the freezer when you are exhausted and broken but want to feel like a real human being who doesn't exist solely on toast and cake.

Oh spritz for bits by my expert midwife, helped helping brilliantly, might be a bit personal, depends how close you are, my best friend gave me some and I am very grateful!

A travel mug with a good secure lid so that she gets a hot cup of coffee or tea! I got one from snapfish with a photo of my son on it. The tea stays hot for hours

Oh and lots of good quality ready meals to stock her freezer with (or cook them yourself)

If you live locally then maybe some tokens for baby minding.

Even if she doesn't want to leave her, just the opportunity to have a leisurely shower/bath whilst someone watches the baby is a big thing.

And don't forget that whilst you might be there to see the baby, getting the tea yourself and doing a bit of tidying/washing up is how it needs to be.

Congratulations Auntie Daisy.

Or even pay for a cleaner to come round for a couple of hours

Someone bought me a beautiful perfume and mama bee cream/bath set. It made me feel like a woman, I'm not even kidding. I was so flippin happy 😊

Food! Meals for now and meals for the freezer. Ideally homemade and packed with veg. My mil stocked the freezer when I was in hospital and I cried with joy and relief when I found them 2 weeks later! It took me over a year to open the bath stuff that people bought me though. Do not buy flowers- just one more thing to try to keep alive!
