Livid dreams

Do you have them, they seem so real to me, except I woke this morning and hubby was annoyed (5am wake up is never nice!). I’d told him/woke him with “better make sure the well never leaks again”. Thing is I remember everything, just not with hubby involved. It was so real

I have heard that’s a pregnancy ‘thing’ but my husband is on a course of antibiotics at the moment and he says since starting them his dreams have become much more clear and memorable.

rudewordsaretheshit · 22/02/2019 01:07

Livid dreams are all the rage.

CustardySergeant · 22/02/2019 01:07

Do you mean lucid dreams?

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 22/02/2019 01:07

Definitely not a pregnancy thing here, I’ve had them from childhood. I know I’m dreaming and have some element of control, but can’t wake up. Sleep talking is very rare though

Do you mean vivid?

Livid = angry

Vivid = realistic, technicolour

VanillaBlossom · 22/02/2019 01:10

Vivid dreams?

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 22/02/2019 01:11

Yep I probably mean lucid dreams, maybe I need to research more before posting!

I’m tired!!! Doesn’t matter how much I sleep it’s never enough. I love dreaming sometimes but I just want to wake up relaxed. Sounds silly to say but I did used to be smartish

I always dream like this and have done for as long as I can remember. I know it's a dream at thr time and I have reoccurring dreams a lot, but I chose different routes to see what the outcomes will be.

I always thought that everyone dreamt like this. I don't really understand what a non lucid dream would be like, can someone explain It to me?

cantthinkofanythingwitty · 22/02/2019 01:15

Also when i took amitriptyline my dreams were a lot more intense , no idea why

7salmonswimming · 22/02/2019 01:22

I think people who sleep on their backs are more prone to this. Something to do with your body weight pressing on a nerve that runs up your spine. If you sleep on your side you have more forgettable dream.

Goes without saying I have no medical training whatsoever.

Steeve · 22/02/2019 01:24

I often have lucid dreams, usually about some point in my childhood and blaming myself. I've PTSD and cPTSD, so I'd think influential. I've had two out of body experiences too. One was very long ago, but is etched into my memory. The lucid dreams I think may be influenced by my meds but nothings changed for quite some time.

Steeve · 22/02/2019 01:25

I think people who sleep on their backs are more prone to this.

I read something a couple of weeks ago that said this.

EBearhug · 22/02/2019 01:30

I get very vivid, active dreams, especially when I am stressed. I suspect I have vivid dreams pretty much all the time - I am just more likely to remember them when I'm stressed, because I don’t sleep as well, so go through different phases of sleep more quickly so no time to forget.

I have woken up pissed off with colleagues or friends because of how they were behaving in a dream. I have also woken thinking fondly of them because of a dream, so there is a balance. And I try to keep it away from how I treat them IRL - it's not fair to ignore them because of the way they were running round in my subconscious in the small hours!

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 22/02/2019 01:42

Haha, my brain doesn’t work well when it awakes, but a combination of vivid and lucid makes sense now.

I do have a lot of control/input when I dream, I can die and reset and start again

I have very realistic dreams. Fortunately the nightmares are rare these days, but it's not unusual for me to wake myself up laughing Smile
My nightmares are really bad and make horror movies look like romcoms.

The best one I had, and am still cranky about to this day, was a major Braveheartesque epic, starring Mel Gibson and Sean Connery - on opposite sides. Get to the final dramatic clash, and my flatmate bangs on the door to wake me up for work. It's not like a video, you can't hit pause! I never found out how it ended.

Al2O3 · 22/02/2019 04:00

I have lucid dreams. I can control them to a degree, wake from them and step back in them again.

k1233 · 22/02/2019 04:02

Wake myself up laughing - i mean i have super funny dreams too

I also have semi frequent dreams of puppies, kittens foals, or a mix. And shoes, dreams of shoes LOL one particular dream about a pair of beautiful red boots.

I did have to give my brain a kick up the backside one day when even kitten dreams were boring! Kittens can never be boring.

Snugglepiggy · 22/02/2019 06:46

I have always had very deailed and lucid dreams. Not every night. But I can wake for the loo and go straight back to the dream and when I wake in the morning I often feel if I could hand my dream to a director there is a full film script !I've often wondered if anyone else experiences this ?

Snugglepiggy · 22/02/2019 06:47

Meant detailed.

MammaSchwifty · 22/02/2019 07:00

Livid dreams sounds like a 90s band name Smile

Hollanda · 22/02/2019 07:47

I love my dreams. If (when) I drink wine before bed they're better lol! I dream usually about being on boats. Water always features. It's got to the point where I honestly don't know if I've been somewhere IRL or just in my dreams.
