Leaving two 10 year olds alone- would you?

Just got back from work and my daughter says she went to the supermarket with daddy. It’s 15 minutes away in the car, he left our two very immature ten year olds by themselves in the house and is nonplussed that I think it’s totally unsafe. For context, I’m concerned they’re too immature currently to be getting the bus to high school in September- their teacher has worries too, so I’m not just being neurotic. Or am I? Is this normal?

Ha yes of course it was, and he’s looking at me like I’m batshit, which I quite possibly am! Thanks all for the sense check.

Also to the PP who said it’s a twin thing, I think you’re right. They definitely do not behave with each other like regular siblings, it’s a bizarre situation to attempt to parent!

Leaving them home alone for a short while should be fine, but they really ought to have a phone they can use in an emergency . I assume you don't have a land line. Perhaps getting it re-instated would be a good idea?
