To worry I'm going to get fired

On probation period in job. Have been really unwell for the past couple of weeks. Had a morning off last week for an urgent doctors appointment but came in unwell that afternoon, was absent the following day, and then came in unwell the day after (I work a 3 day week).

I've been off all 3 days this week. Today is the first day I've felt better but my DC has been ill (typical!).

Should I be worried? I've kept contact with them, regularly updated. I could probably get a sick note tomorrow as I have a doctors appointment regarding the bloods I had done.

I'm spending my time panicking about this.
What can I do in this situation to prove that I'm not flaky? It's rare I'm unwell.

unless your employer is a complete arsehole, I would hope not. How has your work been so far? Employers have to be realistic about employing parent's and the problems that brings.

@disneyspendingmoney it's been good so far. Maybe I'm a bit worried because after my day off last week I had to have a back to work interview in which it was reiterated to me that there is some sort of disciplinary after 4 days off and that I'm on probation period still.

Wouldn't unduly bother me if I was your manager. Loads of sickness still going around.

I'm sick today but have gone in because I worked from home Tuesday and need to work from home Friday. I'm a temp and only been there 4 weeks.

I also need to ask for flexibility due to childcare today. I'm worried!

But I think it's just standard to have to reiterate the sick policy, you're new and probably wouldn't know it.

Don't stress, it'll be next week before you know it and you'll be better Flowers

Well at least they sound line they are following employment policies and procedures if you did a Back to work interview. That could be promising showing that they follow the law and stuff.

I would suggest being frank and open with your boss, about stuff. The UK is in a difficult employment situation at the moment. Not enough people to go around and it costs a fortune to recruit, especially if you came through an agency.

I think your best approach is focus on the positive stuff you've done so far, say that this has been a glitch and you don't normally have situations like this and that you'll make as much provision for your dc as possible. It shouldn't be like that but if you're proactive it puts you in a good place.

Are you a LP or do you have a DP? If you have a dDP can they support you in times like this?
