My lb is coming up to 6 months old. Last night he fell asleep at 9.30pm. Woke up at 11.30 and I popped his dummy back in and he slept until 5 am! Amazing! He's never slept for longer than 3 hours straight since he was born. Which means neither have I.

I couldn't believe it when he woke up and it was 5 am. I felt like I had actually had some good quality sleep and I felt great.....until now. I feel awful. Banging headache and sooooo tired.my eyes feel like they are going to pop out of my head I'm so tired.

Could this be because I actually properly slept last night?

I’m feeling similar after getting a decent amount of sleep the last three nights. It’s as if the more sleep I get the more my body craves it. I was hoping to feel more like a human being again when she started to sleep through.

@OneBiscuitAtATime I'm guessing it's just our bodies thinking it's time to catch up with sleep. I feel worse today than I have in ages and woke up with 2 massive spots on my face!

He's my 3rd dc but the worst sleeper by far so not really got anything to compare it too.

Hope you feel better soon x

You could just be coming down with a cold.

I find the same thing. It's almost like when the lack of sleep reaches a certain point you get used to semi-functioning and become slightly numb to it but when you get a night's sleep you can suddenly feel how tired you are.

My baby was a good sleeper early on and we'd often have nights like you describe but now at 10m she is quite up and down, some nights she'll sleep through and other times wake up repeatedly or for several hours. It's so hard to deal with. My son was a worse sleeper but kind of reliable with his pattern so I could work round him more easily.

One good night's sleep doesn't make up for 9 months of broken sleep. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come and your baby is going to start sleeping better.

Hope you feel better soon!
