Nc’d For this...So a myself and few friends (all in mid 30’s) decided to go to a concert this year (think boyband 😂) it’s in a city we don’t live in. So tickets are booked since last year and the concert is in the summer. We were chatting via fb (we live in different cities too) but all equidistant to city where concert is held! Anyway... we decided we must book the hotel for the night. So we’re looking and posting different hotel options and there were s few options. Obviously we want the best deal so we’re sifting through the hotels when someone suggests s hotel that actually only books a max of 3 per room, to which I say “but there are 4 of us?” The response was “oh yes but we can sneak in the 4th, they’ll never know!” Aibu to think we are too old to be sneaking around fucking hotels at 35 years of age?? I said NO WAY, because how would we decide who is the 4th person? How much would “4th person” ? Surely not the same as other 3!! And what if we got caught!?where would 4th person go?? Others are all exclaiming st the price of other hotels (average 100-130 each) I just feel like, we NEVER do this it’s a once off lets spend some money and have fun!
For the record we all have DC so all pretty much in the same boat financially? Plus we have 5 months to save from now if it’s a matter of saving!AIBU?

No, no, no. I’m too old to share, full stop. Maybe a twin room with another carefully chosen person but I don’t do dossing down anywhere these days.

Book two rooms- sleeping on the floor is uncomfortable and if it's a Travelodge, there's no aircon so you'd all roast, with 4 of you stuffed in one room.

Enjoy Take That/Westlife/Boyzone (delete as applicable)

Airbnb. My most wonderful discovery of the past 2 years....

You are asking the wrong person when it comes to me. I can't even theatre hop or steal a game of miniature golf. I am so petrified of breaking the law, that I married it. Confused

So, it would be a hell no from me.

If city in question is BIrmingham then look for hotel in Coventry will be cheaper. Imbot the nightlife but you can drink at Resorts World at NEC then get a taxi to Cov.

I see @16again Grin I've booked Novotel for Birmingham for both Take That in May & Westlife in June, will see if it's any good in May and change it for June if not! £98 for 1 night in May and £226 for the 2 nights in JuneShock

I’m too old to share, full stop.

This! No amount of money saved is of any interest if I don't have my own bed in my own room to get into at the end of the night.

Bluntness100 · 19/02/2019 22:02

God what do you even want to share a room for, honestly book your own. I've just turned fifty and I did this recently with two female friends for a gig, we shared a room, and it's a ballache, everyone's stuff, who wakes up first, who snores, who doesn't want to go to sleep yet, book a room each.

twilightcafe · 19/02/2019 22:08

This is the point at which you respond with, "I've booked my room at Hotel XXX".
Let them sort their own rooms out.

Oysterbabe · 19/02/2019 22:10

One of the best things about being older is I always book my own room when I go anywhere. Fuck that sharing shit.
