Walking directions from Oxford Circus tube. Can anyone help ?

I need to walk from Oxford Circus underground to Harley Street tomorrow. I don’t know why but I can’t follow directions from maps or instructions like ‘Head south towards ..... ‘ I have problems navigating that seem to go way beyond just a regular sense of direction.

Please can anyone help me out with some really simple, literal instructions that include landmarks ( eg shop names, Street names, turn left, turn right etc? )Last time I did it I had google maps and city mapper and STILL ended up totally disorientated and getting in a taxi in desperation which is crazy because I know Oxford Circus tube is really near Harley Street.

I can’t find instructions that are literal enough for me to interpret and relate to where I’m actually standing. Whether I went out the wrong exit of the station last time I’m not sure but I was totally flummoxed. Thanks to anyone who can help.

If I can’t find it with all this help, there truly is no hope for me. Thank you all so much for taking the time to walk me through it Flowers

You can do it OP, I have total faith in you. Post if you get stuck tomorrow and I'm sure we'll be able to help but I think you'll be just fine. Good luck for the appointment Thanks

Thanks Calypso. The consultant has helped so much already so I’m hoping for good news at this follow up. I’m quietly confident I’ll be able to find it on foot this time what with all the shop/street names and where I should be in relation to them.

People are normally helpful, and “ask someone for directions” is usually good advice in London, but the problem in this specific situation is that of the zillions of people on Oxford Street, the percentage who could reliably direct you to Harley Street is tiny. I seem to spend my life around Oxford Circus for one reason or another, I’m approachable, English speaking, helpful, and good at directions. But before reading this thread even I would have been no use whatsoever to the OP. (Unless I had time to drag out Google Maps of course). So, plan, StreetView and use the good advice.
