Man flu- literally

Posting for traffic- husband on third day of flu. He is in the bedroom braying like an injured donkey. I’m talking non-stop “eurgh! Argh!” Burping and wailing. He reckons it indigestion as he’s managed to eat something but then he’s laid down and it’s turned into hellish heartburn etc. I’ve no doubt he’s got flu, he’s weak and has high temps, but this wailing is not normal (he can be very dramatic though). I’ve offered to phone 111, but what will they actually say for flu? The thing is I can’t even drive him anywhere as I fell over and badly hurt my foot today and I can’t put any pressure on it now, there’s no way I can safely drive. plus I’ve two little ones in bed who I’m keeping away from dh as I don’t want them to catch flu. The only people I can ask to drive are our parents who are all getting on a bit and susceptible to flu and have other health problems, and surely putting him in a taxi would be wrong. Equally walking into a hospital environment with flu is also wrong, but he is wailing, I don’t know what to do and it’s making me feel quite anxious to be honest.

Lots of pain relief and worry if he goes quiet, the fact he is well enough to moan means he's not worryingly ill.

Paracetamol and ibuprofen will keep his temperature down as well as lessen the pain.

Ignore him (and I say this as a fellow recent flu sufferer), as Random says if he's squawking he's not unsafely bad. But if he goes quiet make sure it's because he's asleep or okay, if he's just lying there staring and not responsive you should call an ambulance - watch for a real fever hitting him.

If he's making loads of noise, he's fine. Time to worry is if he goes quiet or can't be roused.

Water and paracetamol, and see how he is in an hour.

If his chest is painful it sounds like a chest infection has developed (especially if he smokes?)
He may need antibs but I'd give a call to 111 to rest your mind at least

If you phone 111 and mention indigestion/chest pain they're likely to send an ambulance. If it would put your minds at ease then just do it.

Thanks for the replies, he’s asleep now. He is asleep now gaviscon seems to done the trick. I’ll check on him throughout the night.
