To ask whether I should go to Luxembourg with two dc?

I am dithering about booking a holiday and shamelessly asking for help! Two dc aged 12 & 10. One loves politics etc and loves the idea of visiting a duchy. One more into YouTube/Roblox etc. Neither are massively into huge water slides and that type of place, though they like a moderate slide if one is available.

We're not massively outdoorsy but like a walk and a café break. One son loves horse-riding and the other won't consider it. They both love ferries and sleeping on them, which this holiday will provide.

I just don't know if there'll be enough to do when we get there. Otoh, they're at an awkward age really and I can imagine booking somewhere more obviously child-orientated and feeling I'd wasted my money. I've also seen that Paris is 3 hours by train though...

Anyone been there and can swing me either way? Is it horribly expensive? As pretty as it looks?

I might be biased here as I have family in Lux, however I've been lots of times and love it there. There is so much to do and the weather is (usually) lovely.
I'm not sure about the cost of accommodation as we stay with family, but meals out and attractions are reasonable and public transport is really cheap.
It is worth getting a Luxembourg card for free/ reduced entry to loads of different attractions www.visitluxembourg.com/en/luxembourg-card
There are so many things to do from wandering around the old city, to museums, parks, castles and visiting the countryside.
Places we enjoyed recently are:
The casemates in Lux city
Butterfly garden at Grevenmacher
Boat ride/tour on the Moselle river
Open air swimming pool at Remich (you can go all day with a picnic etc)
Mining museum and train at Fond-de-gras (Minette Park)
Trier (in Germany) this is Roman ruins and architecture
Ouvrage Hackenberg (Thionville, France) part of the Maginot Line used in WW2.
There are many more things we enjoyed too.

It is very pretty but expensive.

I’ve been twice and love it. Casemates are amazing, several castles dotted around the country (Vianden in particular is a gorgeous tiny town with a castle up high), interesting food choices. I felt comfortable driving in the city.

We did a daytrip to Trier Germany as well, only about a 45min drive.
