To ask what is the going rate?

So not really an AIBU...sorry!

My DD has her first wobbly tooth....just wondering what the going rate is these days? I used to get 20p a tooth and £1 for the two front ones, I'm assuming with the rate of inflation this has gone up since 30 years ago! (Although I have just asked DD what the tooth fairy pays for teeth and she answered with chocolate coins so I could be onto a winner!)

FrangipaniBlue · 15/02/2019 19:16

Tooth Fairy leaves £2 coins in our house.... she's had to make one or two last minute trips to the local shop to get them in the past Grin

RedHelenB · 15/02/2019 19:16

£1 per tooth

EleanorLavish · 15/02/2019 19:17

£1 here, and double if we are away.Grin
My last one has a very wobbly front 'big tooth' at the min, I am not prepared for this yet! He won't look like my baby anymore, wail!

WeaselsRising · 15/02/2019 19:19

£1

Chocolate coins is such a cute idea, I didn't ever think of that but it's magical. If a fairy used money I guess it would be made of chocolate or something equally lovely!!! 🦄

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 15/02/2019 20:54

£2 for the first tooth and £1 for subsequent teeth.

Ivehadthisnamemostofmylife · 15/02/2019 21:34

I'm thinking chocolate coins left under the pillow could get messy!! Looks like the tooth fairy must be doing well for herself these days, think I'll go for £1 per tooth Smile thanks all!

£1 a tooth here

MerQueennotMaid · 16/02/2019 09:02

We use a scale to encourage tooth brushing:

Bronze coin - Dirty tooth
Silver coin - Ok tooth
Gold coin - Clean tooth

When they are really wobbly they find it hard to brush them so it inspires them to keep the brushing up.

I’ve only ever given gold coins (£1) but it deffo helps motivate them.

Redtartanshoes · 16/02/2019 09:04

£20 for first one (((no change))

£2 after that until he got to 9:/10 and neither of us could be arsed anymore

lavenderbluedilly · 16/02/2019 09:10

£2 coin per tooth, apart from that one occasion when DS lost a tooth on an overnight flight and all I had was paper money, so he got $10
