@LaurieFairyCake because her fucking legs are open!

LaurieFairyCake · 16/02/2019 22:50

No idea why you've said that Confused

Did you think I asked a question? Get the wrong person?

TruthHertz81 · 16/02/2019 22:57

The actual picture is much less horrific than the description makes it sound. Still a bit weird though.

The thing I've always found strange are those fountains made in the image of a prepubescent boy urinating - seemingly a staple in every stately home's garden. If it were a young girl taking a crap for example there'd be much more protest but people don't seem particularly bothered.

Bryjam · 16/02/2019 22:59

I agree, however the description is of the daughter sitting, not the end result.

TruthHertz81 · 16/02/2019 23:01

For fucks sake. Every day another fucking man shows how fucking vile they are.

Agreed, but us women can be pretty vile too. We're statistically the primary viewers of violent pornography which is problematic on so many levels.

TruthHertz81 · 16/02/2019 23:01

I'd say that humans can be vile pretty much.

Alsohuman · 16/02/2019 23:04

A world renowned painter paints his adult daughter in a pose she chooses and he's "fucking vile"? OK.

Bryjam · 16/02/2019 23:46

A world renowned painter paints his adult daughter in a pose she chooses and he's "fucking vile"? OK.

A world renowned painters daughter has been brought up to think that spreading her legs whilst naked for her own father to paint her is ok.

Yes. He is absolutely fucking vile.

Alsohuman · 17/02/2019 00:19

What's "fucking vile" about it?

Bryjam · 17/02/2019 00:20

If you don't know I'm not sure anyone can explain

Alsohuman · 17/02/2019 00:26

You could have a go since you're happy to apply that description.

Smotheroffive · 17/02/2019 00:38

The genitals are front and centre they are the focus of the piece, and there is no way its ok to ask your 14 yo DD to pose for hours on end naked. If if she asked it would be wrong to accept

DC can have quite incestuous feelings about their DP s doesn't mean it's not mentally harmful to indulge them!

Hes sick. So are those who support it.

Alsohuman · 17/02/2019 00:44

She was 18, not 14.

Smotheroffive · 17/02/2019 00:47

Was that ^ to me also ? she was naked at 14 in the naked and laughing portrait.

Grostesque

Patroclus · 17/02/2019 01:08

Im assuming people saying painters just do it to have naked women around all day are 12 years old.

And to the supposed still life teacher who sees a vulva as beyond the pale, what did you think was dwn there? shall we cover them all up with a fig leaf?

People saying about all the women artists who didnt make it beause of their sex, then trying to say vulvas are always sexual, dont you see how sel defeating that is? how do you feel abut your own family members naked?

www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/feb/09/me-and-my-vulva-100-women-reveal-all-photographs

And how do you feel about that? probably a 180 degree turn when you find out a women did it. Michelangelo's David, is that 'sick' and the rest?

It beyond parody around here sometimes.

Patroclus · 17/02/2019 01:13

And do people realise its really not ok to make suggestions about sexual assault and the supposed 'sick' motives of people in situations you know nothing about, except for evidence which suggests very much to the contrary that it was anything like that.

You would label somebody a sexual predator purely because you have a repressed idea of nudity and need to justify that to yourself without doing any self-criticism? and the need to 'win' your argument?

Bryjam · 17/02/2019 01:15

patro

It his fucking daughter though Sad

Bryjam · 17/02/2019 01:23

Just to clarify I cross posted and my comment was to the post before the one above.

And?? It's been posted that yes it's maybe not the norm for some of us but the man, as an artist, didn't gain any sexual kicks from painting his daughter with her legs open - it was his daugther's choice to open her legs! and as has been pointed out before yes he wasn't such an nice person but there is no evidence that he was in anyway a paedophile or there was anything inappropriate with his children! I've said before and still agree that he was an artist who like a gynaecologist or male breast surgeon was an artist who nudity didn't shock and was the norm, it absolutely does not make him a pervert.

Smotheroffive · 17/02/2019 01:44

His child dd

Smotheroffive · 17/02/2019 01:46

Being a scout leader doesn't make you a pervert either apparently, or a priest, that's all nonsense. No priests raping nuns, noooo.

Bryjam · 17/02/2019 01:49

sassy

I didn't say any of the things that you have mentioned? I never said he was a paedophile?

I said it was fucking weird, and weird it was.

Juells · 17/02/2019 07:02

That's because little boys always have and always will love pissing outside. It's not sexual, any more than the caganer is. Human beings are capable of telling the difference between something that's coarse and something that crosses a line.

Was that directed at me? You know there's a difference between 'life' and 'still life'? I don't know why I'm a 'supposed' teacher, I taught life drawing. Models could fall into a pose that happened to expose their vulva, but not many would choose it deliberately, and particularly not for a long sitting. I've never seen a male model deliberately lie on his back and expose his perineum either, because it isn't a comfortable position for a human being to hold.

Vitalogy · 17/02/2019 07:06

We're statistically the primary viewers of violent pornography which is problematic on so many levels. Really?! Confused

LaurieFairyCake · 17/02/2019 08:35

There is no way women are the highest consumers of violent pornography

That is completely untrue
