It's a parking one!

Aibu to be bloody pissed off with my parking situation. Old RAF housing, no driveways but allocated parking spaces. Those of us with garages are allocated the spaces in front of our garages (logically). There is a row of 4 garages, ours is the far right. We're a 2 car household so my car gets parked in the garage and DH's outside as he leaves for work first. On the other end of the garages there is a wall. The issue is everyone parks on the wonk so if my neighbour is in, I can't get out of the garage. The cars in front of the middle two garages have not moved since Wednesday and no one is in - we've knocked on doors! So for the second morning in a row I've got to walk to work. OH tried to squeeze my car out this morning for me and in his attempts to avoid hitting neighbours car has cracked my wing mirror on the garage door frame. My car is now back in the garage where it started Angry

Please join my rage and tell me I am not BU!
All of these houses are 2 car+ households but no one else bothers to use their garages.
Parking is very limited around here but I'll have to start trying to find a space on the road I guess - if my neighbour ever returns!

It's a parking one!

As others have said, they cannot block your access to the highway. My friend has a similar issue, whereby cars continually block her in her drive. She calls the police EVERY time and they get towed away Grin

EyeOfTheTigger · 15/02/2019 11:09

Wonkers! Grin

If they're already parked on the wonk before you get home then I'd be tempted to park my car lengthways in front of theirs so you block them all in. See how they like being inconvenienced.

Grumpasaurous · 15/02/2019 11:14

Can you park on the opposite wonk as soon as they’ve moved?

EggbertHeartsTina · 15/02/2019 11:16

This is giving me the rage just looking at it!

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 15/02/2019 11:19

Get your husband to block the middle wonkers in

Tensixtysix · 15/02/2019 11:20

Can't you get hold of some big burly blokes and 'bounce' the offending car to the side?

PuppyMonkey · 15/02/2019 11:22

When your DH comes back and spots this blatant wonkery going on, he should park in front of all of them and block them in until THEY have to go round to your house and ask him to move. At which point he can explain why he did it and repeat the exercise as necessary.Grin

WeeDangerousSpike · 15/02/2019 11:27

I agree. 101 the wonkers.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 15/02/2019 11:29

White line an exclusion zone for the wonkers

thedogattacksthetissuebox · 15/02/2019 11:36

If my car was a shit box I'd just reverse it out and scratch their car on the way. If it wasn't I'd find out what rights there are around having it towed.

alwaysthinkingofsleep · 15/02/2019 11:55

Nothing useful to add, but what knobs!!

Omzlas · 15/02/2019 12:22

Wonky parking bastards

Bollards if you can, see how they like that!

Imicola · 15/02/2019 12:28

Try the police. I was parked in once by an idiot double parking in the road overnight, and about 5 minutes after speaking to the local station I heard a phone ringing in the flat above, then the idiot came down in her jammies to move the offending car.

floribunda18 · 15/02/2019 12:30

I'd have a word with them all individually first to explain the problem.

neddle · 15/02/2019 14:11

Out of interest, how do the police get hold of car owners’ phone numbers? I don’t recall ever putting mine on the v5 documents when registering vehicles.

wowfudge · 15/02/2019 14:40

Directory enquiries?

PettyContractor · 15/02/2019 14:54

I'm guessing the reason the one next to the wall parks at an angle is because there's another wall (or set of garages) facing the ones in the picture, and so close that he can't do a full ninety degree turn, and he'd have to go backwards and forwards for about half-an-hour to straighten, and then repeat the exercise when he wants to leave.

dirtyfries · 15/02/2019 15:00

So the management company has said no bollard. I've requested they paint bays in that case! OH is home from work and no movement from anybody & no answer at doors. Hoping the buggers haven't gone on holiday

hidinginthenightgarden · 15/02/2019 15:07

Block the assholes in!

youknowmedontyou · 15/02/2019 15:11

Nice high stone rectangular flower pots along the edge that they cross should do the trick!

Silly feckers

Fontella · 15/02/2019 17:52

I don't have any suggestions but just wanted to say - that's one hell of a diagram for a parking thread opener. No mucking about, clear as a bell so we all know where we are right from the getgo.

Grin

Great work OP, and other potential parking thread starters take note.

Firstbornunicorn · 15/02/2019 17:57

I'm dying to know why they all park squiffy!! Don't leave us hanging, OP.

ChesterGreySideboard · 15/02/2019 18:03

Arses to the management company.
Big stone planters?

PCohle · 15/02/2019 18:09

I agree that painting bays would be the best option if you can get the management company to agree OP.
