To burn the builders sign outside my house

After not being seen for the best part of 3 weeks except to move a few tiles around the floor, he promised me last night that he would be here first thing.
I'm so glad I got out of bed at 7.30
Wasting my time.
My son is away this week, I don't need to get up, could have gone on holiday, but they said they'd be here.
So I'm going outside to destroy his sign

I think it is better to leave his sign up with a big sign next to/underneath it

Saying this company have not turned up on ?? Days that they said they would be there to do the work

In other words you are advertising him but in an honest way telling people what they are really like to have in your home

Hopefully, you have lots of people going past your house

I don't think you tell him you have done it, after all if he wants to stop you doing it he needs to come to the house and do some work

pepperjack · 13/02/2019 12:25

Cjt-But i could deface it in some other way

pepperjack · 13/02/2019 12:25

If the skip was still there, I would just stick it on the top, quite visible

I never really got this expression. I understand (and agree with) your point but surely, if a wheel isn't squeaking, it doesn't actually need the oil anyway.

You need to make sure you oil wheels regularly so they don’t squeak.

@Yabbers

Yeah, guess that makes sense...probably more caffeine required!

pepperjack · 13/02/2019 12:47

He's just text, said they'll be here in 5 minutes
They have 2.5 days to finish it all
I doubt it

EmilyR1984 · 13/02/2019 12:50

I hope you still owe him money? if so, just remind him he's not getting a penny more from you until he finishes the job

Funnyface1 · 13/02/2019 12:54

Have they turned up?

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 13/02/2019 12:54

He's just text, said they'll be here in 5 minutes

Maybe he’s a MNer Grin

Hi all
Anyone out there have any advice on how best to handle Taylor Wimpey - the nations no 1 homebuilder?! They gave me 2 leaking windows and wonky bricks on the 2nd floor of my townhouse and have been giving me the run around for over 3 years! I now have a £5000 bill to pay to fix it all. Please don’t tell me to go to the NHBC - they are no help either. Any advice would be much appreciated.

pepperjack · 13/02/2019 13:04

He's sent one guy

OP posts:
pepperjack · 13/02/2019 13:12

At least it's not the apprentice
He sent him round once for 2 days, without his boss. I swear he just sat in the bathroom for 2 days.

OP posts:
pepperjack · 13/02/2019 13:13

It's highly likely his wife is an mner

OP posts:
ImNotKitten · 13/02/2019 13:14

Have you withheld some of the payment? I’d be worried about the workmanship if they’re this sloppy.

pepperjack · 13/02/2019 13:19

He's not sent him round to do any real work, he's emptying things out.
He's just put a cardboard box and a brush into his van
This is ridiculous

OP posts:
pepperjack · 13/02/2019 13:21

Oh hang on
The apprentice who put a big hole in the wall is here

OP posts:
Hutchismo · 13/02/2019 13:26

May not be needed, but ideally a sign which you can update daily saying:

X days since...did any work

Jaxhog · 13/02/2019 13:27

Just take it down. He shouldn't actually put one up without your permission

Yabbers · 13/02/2019 13:34

X days since...did any work
Yep. This is good!

Aridane · 13/02/2019 13:54

Kaz - you're probably better starting a thread of your own. Will get more responses

pepperjack · 13/02/2019 13:56

It's face down on my drive
Might run over it when I go back

Apprentice said he thinks they're there til it's finished

OP posts:
SubisYodrethwhenLarping · 13/02/2019 14:17

So is he working or clearing away tools etc?

That are needed on another job?

pepperjack · 13/02/2019 16:12

Sign was back up, so I kicked it down
They've placed some tiles on the floor

No Work.
No Sign.
