There were I believe incidents of sexual assault of female prisoners by transwomen before this but they were ignored.

This whole thing is getting out of hand IMO, slightly off topic but recently it was reported that trans women who have not undergone full transition should be in womens wards in hospitals. So then there was a debate, trans wards, but then there will be a trans women and trans men. Then there will be a kick off because you can’t separate trans from non trans because it’s predudiced. Like the NHS can afford this. It’s getting stupid!

Dame- of course the headlines are because they are trans. They wouldn't be in the women's prison in the first place if they weren't.

Personally, I'm not saying that they shouldn't be in there because they're trans. I'm saying they shouldn't be in there because they're MALE. No matter how they dress, behave, think, speak. They are male.

And vulnerable (and sometime violent too) female prisoners who have been given the shitty end of the stick their whole lives, whether it be because they are victims of domestic violence, child abuse, exploitation or whatever, should not have to share their space with a male prisoner.

Just because females can be violent towards each other does not mean males should be allowed to sexually assault them...or do you think it does?

It's like that argument about how self-id will make no difference as predatory men go into women's toilets anyway to assault women, and it's against the law so if a crime is committed it can be reported. I have no interest in peak transing anyone if I did there are better examples I would use than prisons as we know how little female prisoners matter to the masses.

Interesting fact (thanks Sandi Toksvig), in every race and culture, male infants are more prevalent than female. About 65% of the population. This evens out around puberty as males are so much more likely to die before then. Isn't evolution amazing!
