To delete fortnight

I'm so angry. I've just had a random check on the bank and discovered an Xbox payment for £6.99. (My instant thought was "he'd never do that")
I confront ds and he eventually confessed that yesterday he purchased a 'skin'. I said that it was theft and the same as taking money from my purse.
I confiscated Xbox and all electronics.
I then told him, that in a week he can have his stuff back but I will be deleting fortnight. AIBU?

I dont think its harsh at all. I would be deleting it if it was my son. That is a massive line crossed for me. I dont care whether its 50 quid or 1p... stealing is disgusting and I wouldn't be giving a second chance. If that game has caused him to steal from his parents then it would be gone from my home.

We’ve deleted it, my son has ASD and gets too immersed in/worked up by it (tears/shouting etc) and after several warnings about this carry on it’s been deleted.

My other son spent a similar amount on FIFA points behind my back last year and I went apeshit

Deleting the game maybe a tad harsh thinking he plays this with all his friends I'd say last warning strike 2 and it's gone.
The thing is with these games they get up to certain levels of player he maybe very good. I'd put a block on the game. I have a 11 year old step son who has been on a very thin line. Passwords and parental guidance needs changed at least once a fortnight (no pun intended haha).
