Was the doctor inappropriate?

I was at the hospital for an ECG due to high blood pressure. I saw the doctor afterwards and he was perfectly pleasant.
I had to lay on the bed while he checked my pulse in different areas- my wrists, my ankles and my groin area. I had to push my waistband down while he felt my pulse in the crevice between the top of my thigh and my vagina.
Can people tell me if this is normal?

He should have explained what he was doing and why.

Bambamber to be honest that's what's I'd have thought if I was reading this on someone else's thread.
It was just an automatic reaction to the doctor; assuming what they're doing had a medical purpose. As it turns out I was right and it did, but I don't think there's any harm with anonymously checking with a large group of women who have proven able to put my mind at rest. I don't see how that attracts the vitriol from some of the people commenting but hey ho.
