To think it’s a bit soon for a Little Mix tribute band?

I saw one advertised today. The original Little Mix haven’t been around that long and are still performing and touring etc, afaik!

Why would you not just see the original on their next tour?? Am I missing something?

Lots of bands who are still touring have tribute acts. It’s much cheaper to see them, they go to smaller places, some are excellent and often deliver brilliant gigs.
I can’t say I would personally go to a Little Mix tribute band though. Or actual Little Mix, come to that.

It is not too soon for Little Mix to disband, and a tribute band at any time would not be too soon.

As to why I would not see the original, I prefer real music not bad karaoke.

VanillaSauce · 07/02/2019 18:43

Loads of tribute bands out there for bands/artists who are still producing music.

SileneOliveira · 07/02/2019 18:47

Why would you not just see the original on their next tour??

Probably because the tribute is 10% of the ticket price.

I took my daughter the see the Little Mix tribute - she loves the group but, at 5, I personally didn't feel she was old enough to go to a huge concert and nor did I want to spend a fortune on tickets, not knowing if she'd enjoy it.
As it was, the tribute were very good, she loved it and I've now got her tickets for the real thing next year!

JessMariano · 07/02/2019 18:49

I know tribute bands can be really good, I’ve only really seen ones for people like Pink Floyd, the Beatles etc so I didn’t realise this was a thing.

I took my kids to see a really good little mix tribute for £11 each. Class. Cheaper than £50+ for the real thing and they thought it was the real thing!

Chickychoccyegg · 07/02/2019 19:02

little mix tribute bands have been around for years, I took my dd to one over 2 years ago, they were ok, not any worse than the original

chipsandpeas · 07/02/2019 19:26

the little mix tribute band may as well cash in now cos in 10 years probably no one will be interested

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 07/02/2019 19:30

We can’t all afford to take our kids to the real thing, Why is this too soon?

Wedgiecar58 · 07/02/2019 20:00

My leisure centre is advertising an Ariana Grande tribute act

CatFaceCats · 07/02/2019 20:08

Fab idea!
I looked at £100+ for tickets for 4 of us, plus merchandise, plus parking, plus the nightmare leaving the venue then the 30 mins drive home with 2 knackered kids @10pm.
Tribute act locally - £40 for 4 and a 5 min car ride on a Sunday afternoon.
What’s not to love!?

PBo83 · 08/02/2019 10:46

When my stepdaughter was younger we took her to a Little Mix tribute. She loved the group (...yup, I don't know why either) but I knew she would be overwhelmed by a stadium or arena gig. It was cheaper, local and she loved it.

It was also a good introduction to gigs and, two years later, my wife took her to see the real Little Mix knowing she would be a bit more prepared for it.

notacooldad · 08/02/2019 10:48

There's tribute artists for Robbie Williams, Ollie Murs, Gary Barlow etc.
They are always doing the rounds!!

EstrellaDamn · 08/02/2019 10:50

With Little Mix, it's not like there's a live band or anything. It's literally four girls dancing around to a backing track.

So I can't see the real difference between them and a tribute band. 8 year old DD not convinced though, as they're coming to our local theatre.

Aeonium · 08/02/2019 10:50

A tribute band is only worthwhile if the original band is actually any good. Wtf would anyone want to do a tribute to Little Mix? They’re crap and a bit weird looking.

Boatsnack3 · 08/02/2019 10:53

I took my dd and her cousins to see a little mix tribute for her birthday last year, it cost about £50 for the 4 of us with food and they were fantastic.

I bought dd tickets for the tour this year it cost £150 for 2 of us they had better be even more fantastic.

Not a fan then?
