PIP changing decision before appeal

Not sure what to do. I was on PIP but they did a poor assessment and took it away. Didn't change it at MR either but now they have to respond (DWP) to my appeal by next week.

Now, I'm getting missed calls from them and when I rang the lady said they might be able to change the decision, the 'case manager' wants to speak to me about it.

Wonder what to do. Even if they do reinstate my Enhanced award they only put 18 months this time on the end date, and also feel they have not awarded the standard mobility either.

I have heard of them offering lesser awards, my previous one was awarded by appeal at enhanced and nothing has changed, so guessing they have realised they have no grounds for changing it.

Can’t advise as I’m currently getting my shit altogether for MR, but can see it going to tribunal, lost my enhanced too. But just want to say good luck, with whatever your decision is. I think this is making me even more unwell.

At appeal my award was increased to ‘indefinite ‘ which meant more to me than the money. I would possibly speak to them but make it clear that you have very little to lose by going to appeal.

It sounds as if they know they’ve got it wrong and want to tempt you into accepting an offer to avoid appeal. Actually the appeal was fine so I would be quite encouraged by this; they know you will probably win.

Bastards.

You've nothing to loose by speaking to them I guess, you can still go ahead with the appeal I assume. (If not then take some advice from benefits advisors) but i would take that as they know you are going to win so are trying to limit damage. Number of Appeals overturning results are not good for them. Decide what you would think is reasonable, in terms of awards/levels and as others have said lengths of awards and see what they have to say. See it as a negotiation. If you don't like what they say don't be pressured into dropping your appeal.

Wow they just called and offered me the enhanced care back and also standard mobility when I skip to them about length gave me 5 years. That was worth doing.

Please, please appeal people if they mess you around. It is so crap how they treat people, i could have lost all my award if I hadn't persevered.

Yes first they said 2 years and I said well that will mean assessed again in one, and after a chat they changed to 5! Unbelievable.
