To be so stressed I can’t sleep?

I’m a mature student in final semester of final year!

Last spring I got a FT job with a large (pretty amazing) company.

I was up front in my interview about going back for my third year and what this would mean..etc but they were confident it would be fine.

Last semester I worked flexibly and ‘just’ about managed, although my results were lower than I’d like (still good though).

Every performance review I’ve had has been VERY positive and I only get paid for the hours I work (to ensure I don’t take the piss- my idea)

However, I’m two weeks in to this semester and today received an email from my manager saying he doesn’t want me to WFH at all anymore (would usually do 2 afternoons a week) and wants me to come into the office- even for an hour or two either side of uni! This was stressed!

We’re busy atm and I get that but the work seems to be getting more and more tedious whilst the flexibility is reigned in!

I like the job and the people I work with- and I had really hoped to stay there long term. But it feels like the understanding I had (under which I just about managed last semester) has been changed and I’m unsure what to do?!

I feel like giving up the job would be a big loss but don’t know how to go about dealing with the situation.

FYI- flexible working is supposed to be available for all staff- it’s one of the company ‘things’ so I can only assume this is being said now as they don’t think I’m doing enough/performance issues 🤔 Althoufh every time I meet with them they say I’m doing awesome!

I think maybe there’s an expectation that I maintain full time in put on part time wage!

Ahhh op. I really don't have any advice. I'm awake also as frustration and loneliness gnaw away at me. Hope you get some sleep. Could you ask for a face to face meeting to clarify what was said in the email and say what you have said here, ie. That the agreement has changed and you aren't coping well with the inflexibility?
Sending you hugs and strength x

Ask for a meeting to see why he has changed his mind. Remind them that this was agreed from the beginning of your employment and is only temporary.
If that doesn't work, quit. There will be other jobs.
If they need you, they will work round you,
