To ask if you'd go to the doctors over this? (POSSIBLE TMI)

I'm 22 so have been having regular periods for years now and for the last two months I've been bleeding abit in between periods. This is completely new to me.

It starts about a week after my period has finished, and it isn't as heavy as a period. Sometimes there is a little blood clot, sometimes the tissue Is just pink from where there has been a little bit of blood.

After consulting DR google, it says it could be down to a few things - all which would not apply to me (birth control, having rough sex etc).

So my AIBU is would I be wasting a doctors time if I make an appointment to see if there is an underlining issue? Or is this completely normal and I should just get on with it? Thanks.

You should go. A doctor wouldn't think you're wasting their time

fatpatsthong · 04/02/2019 09:08

I was always told unexplained bleeding = dr. I'd say especially if there is no obvious cause tbh. As you say can be loads of stuff but one to check.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 04/02/2019 09:10

No you wouldn't. Do make an appt.

flumpybear · 04/02/2019 09:15

This is exactly why doctors are there, for these types of thing - get it checked out and don't Dr Google it, you'll be convinced you've got a brain tumour or broken ankle ....

Go to the doctor's. It's either nothing or something, either way you need to know!

duvetdays1 · 04/02/2019 09:18

Thanks everyone, trying to make an appointment but ringing my doctors is an absolute nightmare, but will keep trying!

This is an official ‘thing that needs checking by a doctor’ so no, YANU to make an appointment. Probably nothing serious but needs checking.

LuckyLou7 · 04/02/2019 09:19

It could be due to a number of things, mostly nothing to be alarmed about, but any bleeding in between periods needs investigation. Make that appointment.

Go to the doctor. I had this and it was due to a benign polyp in my uterus, which i had removed. I also sometimes spot around ovulation due to hormone changes, and that can be pretty normal. Or it could be a bunch of other reasons. Just get it checked out love
