CalmdownJanet · 02/02/2019 20:16

Lots of everything you said Grin and good company

TaimaandRanyasBestFriend · 02/02/2019 20:18

Having it some place where it's not pissing off your neighbours with your noise.

Inliverpool1 · 02/02/2019 20:24

The neighbours will be there ... cleaning up, unavoidable unfortunately

Relaxed atmosphere, lots of food and drink, music not too quite and not too loud. Good mix of people.

Odoreida · 02/02/2019 20:31

Fizz in the fridge for the people who arrive first, get loads of cheapish wine and beer (keep it outside if no room in the fridge), make easy and delicious-smelling food like sausages. Have some crisps, cut up vegetables and humous around the place too. Get your best friends to come early and help you set up / get dressed with you, as that is half the fun and means that your guests will arrive to a good atmosphere. Have a great time, I love a good house party.

Amanduh · 02/02/2019 20:32

Plenty of food and drink that doesnt run out two hours in.. a good combo of old/current music from all eras... people who aren’t twats... done!

SaucyJack · 02/02/2019 20:36

Somewhere warm and comfy to inhale nicotine.

FlippinNora1 · 02/02/2019 20:37

Good friends. Anything else is just a nicety.

Merryoldgoat · 02/02/2019 20:37

A vodka watermelon.

And punch. Loads of punch

I might (mentally) be pathetically clinging to my youth...

anotherwearytraveller · 02/02/2019 20:39

Guests
And that is the least controllable factor given so many people these days are flakey and either don’t turn up or cry off last minute with crap excuses etc

Have been to a fair number of well planned parties that have been a disaster as at least 50% guests didn’t turn up. Always feel desperately sorry for the hosts.

WeeTinkerMonkey · 02/02/2019 20:40

Just pizza, lube and a goat.

Maybe that's just me...

CeeCeeMacFay · 02/02/2019 20:43

We have thrown a few house parties that have gone well, I would recommend:

Plenty of fizz plus wine glass markers so you can write people's names on their glasses, means people keep the same glass. Think they are only around £3 on amazon.

Hog roast- this worked a lot better than when we did buffets

Lots of fairy lights, creates a nice atmosphere

Good music (Spotify play list if you have it), not too loud

ghostyslovesheets · 02/02/2019 20:59

company is what makes it - I throw them quiet a lot

Music also important (hello Alexa!)

I tend to lay on fizz and make cocktails

Nibbly food - no one wants to eat much

ghostyslovesheets · 02/02/2019 20:59

Just pizza, lube and a goat

Well I'm in!

Inliverpool1 · 02/02/2019 21:17

There will be no pizza in my house 😂
Other two requests considered

OP posts:
Squirrelblanket · 02/02/2019 21:22

Plenty of toilet paper!

PeterRabbitsBlueCoat · 02/02/2019 21:24

A cheese and pineapple hedgehog

ginghambox · 02/02/2019 21:25

No kids
Lots of booze

HostessTrolley · 02/02/2019 21:58

Make a couple of trays of chocolate brownie batter in advance. Put in oven at 9.30-10pm to combat carb crash/pretreat hangovers. Plus they smell amazing
