Husband pawned his wedding ring

Six months ago. He received a reminder letter yesterday saying it was going to be sold unless he paid to get it out. I found the letter. I had no idea he'd pawned it. He never wore it anyway but 100% certain he's not the type to cheat. I'm so upset he did it, said he needed the money. Told him not to bother getting it out as it obviously means nothing to him. Aibu?

Just for a bit of perspective, my husband bought a £15 wedding ring and never, I mean never wears it. Two of our friends (in two different relationships) don't have wedding rings, they changed the wording in their ceremonies as they didn't want rings. The wedding ring isn't important but your relationship and his financial worries are

It is disgusting

Wedding rings aren't a big deal to a lot of men. I would worry more about his finances.

Moominfan · 02/02/2019 20:33

Do you guys both share finances? Must be a shock if you wasn't aware of financial stress

Not even sure where my wedding ring is, dangerous things, nearly pulled my finger off with it twice.

If you know he is pawning things then it doesn't matter what it is, but I would have mentioned it, if you don't know he is pawning things then I'd be annoyed and worried
