Hi
Any Eastbourne people on here?
Can you tell me what the roads are like/any snow?
Thanks a million

All fine and clear.

SaucyJack · 02/02/2019 07:59

I live a bit further along the Sussex coast, and there isn’t a single flake to be seen anywhere :-)

BigdogBrucella · 02/02/2019 08:05

Thanks both!
And are the roads clear and free of ice?

All clear, no ice- thank goodness! :)

evaperonspoodle · 02/02/2019 08:47

Completely OT, but is Eastborne nice to live in?

Sussexbonfireviking · 02/02/2019 08:50

I'm 15 miles along the coast, and yesterday we had good snow (almost snow day level)
Cars were abandoned in Rottingdean...

Today, literally not a flake out there

Twernip · 02/02/2019 19:46

evaperonspoodle It's not a bad place to live, although like anywhere it has pockets of anti-social behaviour, violence etc. On the whole, however, it's pretty peaceful. The beach and the South Downs are definite plus points!

evaperonspoodle · 02/02/2019 22:01

Thanks twernip. Is it multicultural?

babysharkah · 02/02/2019 22:30

Grandparents live in Eastbourne. Multi cultural wouldn't spring to mind when describing it.

sueelleker · 03/02/2019 09:21

I got the bus there from Brighton yesterday-no problems.

Twernip · 03/02/2019 10:52

I have to agree with babysharkah ; Eastbourne isn't known for being multicultural, unlike, say, Brighton. However, there have been moves to encourage diversity which, (especially as the town is known for its foreign language schools) is a very good thing.

Ballbags · 03/02/2019 11:00

I wouldn't live in Eastbourne. It's got a lovely seafront but is full of old people, rubbish shops (although new Beacon Centre will be better), no decent restaurants, average schools and dreadful traffic.

HerBigChance · 03/02/2019 11:07

It's nit very multi-cultural, no. But there are a lot more cultural things going on than people might imagine. And there are lots of people moving into the area, which is shifting the age demographic.
