To think this is inappropriate to show to a class of 7 year olds?

My son has been talking about this since I collected him from school. He’s got quieter and quieter and is now scared to be left alone as he’s scared about this dragon. He genuinely believes it’s real no matter how many times I tell him otherwise.

He described the video older and I found it and can see why a 7 year old would believe it. Apparently the teacher announced it as breaking news.

Aibu or is it unreasonable? Or is my son too sensitive/gullible?

Imo it's not inappropriate to show to 7yo, but I'd want to know the context in which it was shown.
It would be inappropriate if he teacher to encourage a child into thinking something is real if it's likely to scare them. Chances are your child has had the same teacher since September? So should know how quite well, certainly to realise that he is quite sensitive and gets affected by news stories if they watch them every day.

I wouldn't have an issue with my DD (Y2) being shown this is school, she likes make-believe and in all likelihood it would get her thinking dragons are real.

Nothing wrong with make-believe so don't worry about him being "too" gullible Smile but as it's bothering him maybe find some other, clearly fake videos to show him, or videos showing how the fakes are made?
