... With a 2 month old ebf baby.
I can't express so I can't really leave my baby for long.
Other than walking, what kind of exercise can I do?! 😬

Fitness DVD.
I recommend 30 day shred. It's only 20 minutes, I do it first thing in the morning and then I'm done. It has a little bit of weights in it, just use tins of beans or bottles of water.

There is plenty of exercises you can do at home without equipment, however at 2 months post partum you should still be kind to your body and much if it depends on how active you were prior to your pregnancy.

Try the walking as a start, I think jumping straight into 30 day shred could be difficult at your stage.

Pintrest is a great place to look for exercises as is YouTube or Instagram if you can find a fitness person you like to follow. They all post workouts - try Whitney Simmons or Alice Living to start with.

There are loads of DVD's on the market too, some of them are in 10 min sections for people who are short of time.

Or if all else fails - put some music on and just have a good boogie for 3 songs Grin

I'm at home most days with an EBF baby and a toddler. Other than walking/jobbing with the pram I use an exercise app I can use on my Apple TV in the living room. Only about 30 mins and no need to get a babysitter.

WinterHeatWave · 31/01/2019 14:41

I'd walk for now, and in a couple of weeks, start couch 2 5k.
Feed baby, yand to DH, get changed and run. Back within 40 mins to shower or feed.

PurpleAndTurquoise · 31/01/2019 14:54

Up and down the stairs.
Hula hoop in front of telly.

thismeansnothing · 31/01/2019 15:10

See if there are any buggyfit or sweaty mama classes in your area.

Otherwise YouTube has tons of home workouts on there. 30 day shred etc

Walking with the pram with some speed intervals thrown in

There is a group of us that have been doing Adriene's 30 days of yoga on you tube. It's completely do-able. I think it would be perfect for you. It's a months plan put together for you for free! A new video everyday. She has a calendar with length of video so you can plan when to fit it into your day. We are going to continue into February - come join us.

Here's the link if anyone wants to join us. Many of us have never committed to doing something everyday before. It's been a great success.

PottyPotterer · 31/01/2019 15:30

Bodyfit by Amy on YouTube, she's 5 months post partum herself and has loads of short workouts, many specifically aimed at new mums. I'm not post partum but do her workouts everyday, they're fab and easy to squeeze in.

RayRayBidet · 31/01/2019 15:31

Sorry OP, I completely missed the fact that you are only two months on from giving birth! I'll get me coat Grin

Habadabadoo · 31/01/2019 16:21

@RayRayBidet ha ha! I laughed at your 'little bit of weights in it' comment too! I love the shred videos but she works you hard! I also found the two/three min cool down at the end far too short so had to more stretching myself so it ended up longer.

RayRayBidet · 31/01/2019 16:25

Habadabadoo
Yeah it's 20 minutes of torture for me but rather that than traipsing to the gym for a half arsed routine (I always half arse the gym so I gave it up!)
She is funny, and of course the lovely Natalie and Anita in the background!

eniledam · 31/01/2019 16:27

Search for the 'Sweat' app by Kayla Itsines. 28 minute workouts suitable for beginners. Just take it slow and work up to the harder exercises when you feel up to it. No need for equipment either - most of it is body weight exercises.

To be honest, maternity leave with my first child was the fittest year of my life. No need to sit down at a desk for 8 hours, plus commute! You can walk, run with buggy, do any of the millions of fitness videos on you tube, swim (I popped baby in one of those floatation aid things and just pushed her back and forth kicking), there's lots of buggy-fit type exercise type classes where I live; once they're a little bit older and can hold their neck right, I used to use dd as a weight, squat lunges etc with her in my arms- she loved it. The fitness world is your oyster!

Thanks everyone, there's some great ideas here! 😁

Have a look for mum and baby fitness classes near you. The Hoop app is good for this. Or give dad the baby in the evening and go to a class.
I started running about 4months in.
May want to make sure all your post partum muscles, etc are ready before you do any ab exercises. 30 day shred is a bit keen.
Or wait until the weather warms up and do buggy fit.

Siameasy · 31/01/2019 19:35

Personally I allowed myself the first 3m to chill out but after that I did go back to the gym
Be careful if you’re bfing because the hormone elastin may stil be in your body. I ended up really hurting my knees😭 by running so maybe cross trainer at first.

I do circuits and hiit now. I’m time poor and I find this the most efficient
