IKIABU ... Have posted about this before - but last time was potentially understandable... We were getting calls via our intercom (it is linked to our mobiles not handsets in the home) for our neighbour - We are 105 and they are 105A. OK fine. Easy done.

Now it appears we are the ONLY people from the whole block of 30 apartments to be arsed to give our mobile number over. So I now get calls for every fucker.

Yesterday I get a call "Hi it's Amazon. No 100 isn't in" Whoopy do. Few days previous "Can you let me in - I have a parcel for 79" Repeat ad infinitude times per week.

I am fed up of being called for everyone!
I wouldn't mind but we have a fucking consierge that's the between 8 and 1 and a foyer in which parcels CAN be left. Clearly the parcels do not need to be signed for... if 100, or 79 or anyone isn't in they aren't going to get a signature... leave the bloody thing in the foyer!

Lost my shit after Mr Amazon yesterday and have put this notice above the intercom in the foyer...

Had it read what I wanted it to ACTUALLY say it would also say something like "To obtain your parcel back, I want a handling fee or I'll throw the thing in the fucking bin you lazy arse!"

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH. Just sheer laziness and a fucking pain in the arse

I am not a fucking parcel holding service!!!!!

Ummm.... i think a note next to the intercom explaining that if the tenant is not in they can leave the parcel with the buildings concierge service next door will be more effective than this note...

catmumof1 · 31/01/2019 13:57

Can you block the number when you're not waiting for a package or visitor?
Failing that change your number/ give the intercom people a fake number and put yours on all your delivery note sections so your actual deliveries know who to call.
It's a really awful system they've set up though, I would persevere with the intercom and management companies for something more practical.

BlancheM · 31/01/2019 13:58

I get that cj but earlier you were talking about not being a minding service and playing cat and mouse to get parcels to their rightful owners. If I did buzz in, I wouldn't accept the parcels as well.

jollyoldsoul · 31/01/2019 16:21

Is there a way to start charging the buzzer ringers a small fee each time you let them in?

jollyoldsoul · 31/01/2019 16:27

Ooooh, if you have a just giving account, you can get them to text to donate!

Then I'd put up a sign saying 105 only provides access after a donation has been made. Unless it's for 105.

Troels · 31/01/2019 16:43

Your note should just say, 105 only accepts parcels meant for 105. Please see the Consierge to leave for other flats.

SunnyCoco · 31/01/2019 16:47

Yeh I agree with Troels

I think your note is confusing. As maybe the other residents don't know / understand about how the system works.

Also I really think you should try not to lose your temper with the delivery people, it's not their fault

Momo18 · 31/01/2019 16:51

This happened to me, living on a square. It got to the point the courier would see nobody was home and head straight to my house as I'm a sahm. At Christmas we was taking between 2-5 parcels a day for a few weeks. My husband in the end told this courier no, she took great offence Shock

Auntpetunia2015 · 31/01/2019 16:58

My intercoms works like that. I assigned it to the land line ! Only time the bloody thing rings is if I’ve a visitor or a delivery. Our concierge is on 8 till 5:30 so I’m luckier than you OP.

I agree with just asking if it’s for your number if not say sorry bye and hang up.
