to ask how I’m going to squeeze into dress 🤔

Off to a wedding in a couple of weeks and the dress I ordered in the sales arrived today. A size 10, it looks so lovely but a bit too tight. Checked online and the bigger sizes are sold out.

I’m going to have a look around for another dress but would love to make this one work if I can.

So, bombard me with your tips for losing a bit of weight in the space of a couple of weeks. I have to be careful because I’m exclusively breastfeeding my 3 month old (so I’m always hungry) and I’m suffering from diastasis recti which I’m seeing a PT for, so no high impact excercise. I’m thinking drinking lots of water, no snacking on anything naughty and some brisk walks. Oh, and some spanx of course! Will that be enough?

No bread or wheat flour. Sorry. But it worked for me.

Apparently when we are full up we naturally give a little sigh and we should notice it and stop eating straight away at that point. Following that should mean your portions are really good. Can you get in loads of fruit and veg and only snack on them? Seeds, avocados, roasted chickpeas etc, have a boiled egg for breakfast. Will keep you full up and healthy and if you have some overnight oats that will help with breastfeeding too. If you make those changes a couple of pounds over a couple of weeks shouldn't be an issue.

Look into having a body wrap like universal contour wrap. You'll lose inches (only water really) and should fit in the dress

Sciurus83 · 31/01/2019 08:43

I'm also EBF a three month old and in the odd post natal body period and I say get another dress. Dieting can affect your supply, and your body has been through a lot, I don't think it's worth the risk. Save the dress for next year, get something you feel good in now and be kind to yourself. Dont be held hostage to a dress!

Lol not a stealth boast at all. I may be a size 10 but my stomach looks like an elephants wrinkly neck at the moment, I was all bump and now suffering pretty bad diastasis recti.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Do those body wraps actually work? Are they safe? I’ve always been a bit Hmm about them.

Anyway; you will all be relieved to hear that the bigger size came back in stock and i ordered it straight away. Bloody Instagram was taunting me with adverts of the dress I bought so I ended up clicking on the ad and saw it was back in!! Don’t quite hate targeted stalkerish ads as much now.

I am however still going to be drinking lots of water, eating healthier snacks and going for lots of walks because I’m ready to feel a bit more put together. I’ll keep the carbs though Grin yayswimming roasted chickpeas are delicious, thank you for reminding me of them!

I guess it was a bit much to try and squeeze myself into this dress, it’s just a dress after all and if I was reading this post from someone else I would have said the same thing - “just find something else OP, you’ve got a bloody baby”. The hypnotizing power of a nice dress eh!

make a big lentil soup with veggies. this is your go to when you need warming, something peckish.

Do not eat pasta salad ffs or bread. don't buy premade food.

boiled eggs for breakfast, fruit

roast veggies/steamed veggies/ protein.

eat whole foods not processed ones. drink herbal teas instead of coffee and tea with milk... you watch, and get your 10,000 steps in. dont get hungry.... eat plenty of fruit. always have apples in your bag, not crisps or choc..

I wore this under a dress for a wedding last year and lost inches. I couldn't even get the zip all the way up without it on. Struggled to get it on but once it was on it was comfortable. Just practice weeing in it first.

SubparOwl · 31/01/2019 12:10

Oh God, don't put yourself through the stress. Just buy another dress.

TadaTralala · 31/01/2019 12:14

no carbs. try cauliflower rice, courgette spaghetti etc

SubparOwl · 31/01/2019 12:26

CallMeVito · 31/01/2019 12:39
