A week after brexit?! Is it a stupid thing to do... Worried about cancelled/delayed flights

No better ok ahead. Have a look on gov website to make sure there’s an agreement in place if no deal.

We’re on a cruise at Easter it’s been confirmed even in no deal scenario this will carry on as before

Make sure your passport was not issued more than 9.5 years ago as at the date of your return

Deadbudgie · 28/01/2019 21:08

Meant - no go ahead -god knows what that first sentence meant bloody predictive text

ScafellPoke · 28/01/2019 21:10

We’re off to Malta over Easter. Didn’t give Brexit a thought when we booked it to be honest. Have no concerns.

ScafellPoke · 28/01/2019 22:10

Have you booked it as a package or individually?

DS flies to France with 49 other Y5’s and 6’s on the 30th March. The teachers are taking some packs of cards in case of delays but they are still going.

NotGenerationAlpha · 28/01/2019 22:18

Have a look here www.gov.uk/government/publications/flights-to-and-from-the-uk-if-theres-no-brexit-deal/flights-to-and-from-the-uk-if-theres-no-brexit-deal

We are flying Easter and only 17 none EU country is affected. I remember the scare mongering here about non EU flights. You can easily find the list of that 17 non EU country you should avoid.

We booked long haul btw back in summer 2018.

MrsWicket · 28/01/2019 22:23

Booked as a package, Scarfell.

ScafellPoke · 28/01/2019 22:30

Thanks not we’ll be flying to Greece. But not as a package. I’ve read that you’re less protected becauae if the flights are cancelled you are still obliged to pay for the accomodation, which is fair enough.

So more worried, wondering about the flights.

Even if it belongs to one of those 17 it says deals will be in place by Exit day

Easter is two weeks or nearly 3 after brexit btw. Can you imagine the financial impact it’d have not only in the uk but Eu countries whose tourism depends in the uk ???

We’re flying to Sweden for Easter

ScafellPoke · 28/01/2019 22:40

That’s was I keep trying to remind myself europe (good name 😀)

Yep we booked over a year ago for Easter. Tui have said a statement echoing the government official one saying EU flights will be okay. Be good to get away after a week of post Brexit news to be honest!

I agree with European12345 actually about Easter and EU flights. The most likely impact will be the first few days when nobody knows what's happening. Things will be sorted out by Easter. I wouldn't worry too much. I know of two people who booked 30/3 because it's very cheap to fly that day.

ScafellPoke · 30/01/2019 16:11

Thanks, we’ve contacted the company in which we’re arranged a part of the trip with and they have reassured us too.
