To scare myself silly googling symptom?

Yes I know I am, but struggling to stop doing it.
I have noticed recently that if I am really relaxed, I start drooling outside of one side of my mouth. Decided today to google this as a symptom and I am now half convinced that I am seriously ill and have a degenerative muscle disease.
Please reassure me. Is this something that happened to you when you got older?

I agree that looking at google can sometimes cause unnecessary panic, however, ignoring a health worry can sometimes lead to bigger problems. Go visit your gp, let them tell you it’s nothing to worry about.

Book a doctors appointment

LivLemler · 28/01/2019 14:37

Wow, google didn't tell you you have cancer, that's what usually happens to me. Grin Go see your GP, put your mind at ease. Google is evil.

Oh God! You are all giving the sensible advice I would. I tend to put off going to the Drs with unexplained symptoms though. About 20 years ago I got all these strange symptoms such as numbness in parts of my skin and small electric shocks. I had lots of tests and they found nothing. And the consultant clearly thought it was just all in my head. So I just stopped mentioning the symptoms to my GP.
I really don't want a rerun. So although I know it seems good advice, I will just wait and see if it gets worse or I get any other symptoms.

Definitely get it checked. If it makes you feel any better I’ve just convinced myself I have a hernia because I have pain in my side..

Chewinggumwalk · 28/01/2019 15:03

You know what they say, OP - self diagnosis is worth every penny you pay for it!

You should get it checked out, as nobody online can tell you, but it’s far likely to be nothing than something serious 🤞🏿

If it helps marymarkle

I dribble from one side of my mouth too when I'm very relaxed, apart from having Pernicious Anaemia (nothing to do with dribbling) I haven't been diagnosed with any horrible diseases Thanks

Thanks zukie

I'm sure it'll be nothing mary

I'm worrying myself a bit because my body keeps twitching, in my arms, legs, neck, head, stomach and sometimes my whole body.

My aunty had MS, so I'm thinking what if

I need to talk to my GP too

proseccoaficionado · 28/01/2019 18:16

I tend to do this and it's fucking terrible.

It's always cancer. 15 different types of it.

I'm not saying to ignore health concerns but see a doctor. Google is full of stupid and wrong advice written by idiots
