AIBU to give my feverish child a bath?

My 9-year-old caught a virus from his best friend. He woke up this morning vomiting, with a fever a little over 39. I gave him Calpol but he threw it up immediately. He was able to keep down chewable ibuprofen around 12:30 pm and that took the fever down. Now the fever is back up to 39 but it’s not quite time to give more ibuprofen and he says he can’t stomach Calpol. He is bundled up on the couch but he feels freezing cold. He wants to take a warm/hot bath to warm him up but I’m worried about raising his temperature even more. WIBU to let him take a bath? Or can I give him ibubrofen after only five hours?

I would let him have a bath but not too hot. You can get Calpol fastmelt tablets if he can stomach them better than Calpol liquid

If he’s shivering it’s because he’s too hot, it’s called rigours. Don’t let him take a hot bath, he could have a tepid one to cool him (not cold). He would feel better cooler than hotter.

I wouldn't make it too cold either. Warm but not too hot would be ok

If he's near 10 yrs then u could give him one paracetamol and get him to swallow it

Don't give him Ibuprofen on an empty stomach.

I'd put him in a cool bath rather than a hot one. It'll bring his temperature down.

It's not advised to give tepid baths or cool baths as it can make their temperature spike. A normal warm bath is fine.
