To ask for meal ideas using 2 hob rings as my cooker just broke!

As above my cooker broke, the bottom oven, top oven with grill and 2 hob rings no longer work. The cooker is only 2 years old and has been repaired 3 times under warranty already. It is no longer under warranty by 10 days. I don't have a microwave or slower cooker so meals will need to be cooked on the 2 working hob rings. Apart from pasta and sauce my mind has gone blank. I will need to save for a new one or a repair so will need to manage on the 2 hob rings for quite a while. I don't want to buy a microwave or slower cooker if I can get away with it as that money could go towards a repair replacement.

Sounds like you were sold a dodgy cooker too OP if it's needed 3 repairs already.
Did you buy it new?
If so, it surely should have lasted longer than 2 years?
Consumer Rights 2015 says that goods should be fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time.
Try posting in Legal for suggestions regarding getting a suitable replacement or reimbursement.
Good luck.

You can make a slow cooker - you need a box 6 inches bigger all round than your biggest pan. stuff the gap between pan and box with shredded newspaper (or traditionally hay), and have a bag of shredded newspaper to put on top. If you've packed it tightly enough, when you lift the pan out you'll be left with a pan-shaped hole. Put your meal ingredients in the pan, bring them to a brisk boil on thehobe, then transfer the pan to the box and leave all day. You may want to check after a few hours that it's retaining enough heat to slow cook - you can always put it back on the hob to boost if it isn't.

On the sweet(er) side you can cook griddle scones, drop scones. You can steam a sponge pudding (put basin in saucepan and surround with water.) And you can do rice pudding in a pan - it's the normal way in some countries.

As Wingedharpy said, it sounds like the cooker is not fit for purpose. 10 days out of warranty shouldn't mean that the company isn't liable for the repairs. Do you have legal cover with your house insurance? they might be able to advise for free.

Dhal is great for cooking on the hob

Some companies are good at honouring the warranty even if it is slightly outside of it. My mum has had her car fixed when it was only s few days out of warranty. With all those repairs I would be hopeful they would replace it for you.
