I live next to the end house on a road, the woman across from us has left her bins out on Gail force winds while she goes away!
Anyway my point is her bin has toppled over and all of her rubbish is in my garden 😫 I will clean it up as I'm not leaving it there but would it BU if I put a note through her door ? And what should I say( Im not a rude person)As it's not the first time now.
Thanks mumsnetters

When is normal bin day? Not her fault that it's windy so if bins were due to be collected within a couple of days I can see why she would leave them out.

Thursday

Ok yeah that's too far away. Note it is.

I thought you were only allowed to put bins out the night before and we're supposed to collect in that evening. Leaving them out for a week seems ridiculous for this very reason.

missell88 · 27/01/2019 08:01

Haha google is the way.
I thought that too and I don't mind usually but leaving it out (as she's hardly home anyway) only annoys me because it's happened with her cardboard before
I don't want to be out in this weather cleaning up someone else's crap 😫

Yep, our council website states put out at 5am, or after 6pm if you have to do it the night before. It also states bring it in as soon as you can so it doesn't block pavements. Leaving it out for a week is unacceptable, but speak to her don't leave a note. Maybe pull her bin in with yours and speak to her when she collects it?

missell88 · 27/01/2019 08:07

Yes I suppose, il just wait for when she comes back again and il speak to her.
Il pick up the rubbish and I'm moving her bin closer to hers as it will go over again before they come to collect.

Nite stating what's happened and suggest next time she goes away she asks a neighbour to pull her bins out and back again? I Facebook my neighbours to ask and my dad usually diverts past to check when I go away 🤷‍♀️

CallMeVito · 27/01/2019 08:22

You could offer to take her bins out when she is away. It seems that she doesn't want to miss the collection - so is advertising to the whole world that she will be away until at least bin day, it's great for burglars!

You could either report to council and complain about the mess, or just tell her first that she needs to put the bins elsewhere.

It's completely irresponsible to leave the bins where they can be sent flying into a car or the middle of the road. Some people are just too selfish to live near others.

missell88 · 27/01/2019 08:40

She's across the road from me, and I've spoke to her next door who says she's always havin oarcels delivered and never in so they go to them :(
It just happens the wind is blowing across to me and I have a narrow long front lawn so it's all over
