Bloody bloody snoring again!!!

Here I am, away for the weekend to BIL's and on the sodding sofa. DH spread across the bed snoring his head off.
I knew it would end like this when the snuffling little snores started. The fear crept in; pounding heart, clenching stomach muscles, just feeling myself start to drift off then another snore.
Ffs. Only got about 3 hours sleep last night and now this once more. I'm never staying away with him again when there's no alternative bedroom to kick him in to.
Anyone else?? 😖 It's really starting to get to me now. 🙁

@Charlie97 oh hope you feel better soon! My Dh is worse when he has a cold!

But it's totally true what other posters have said about the weight. He needs to lose a stone really. He's also really apologetic in the morning and I have recorded him and played it back!! It's when there is more than light drinking and I see another glass of red being poured and know it = no sleep 😐

@Effy1990 you poor thing. Bed hogging is infuriating too. We are ttc at the moment and it makes me mad because I feel like the lack of sleep isn't helping matters!!!

Will try those suggestions everyone, thank you. Is it those little black ear plug things? With the metal in?

My dh sounded like a rusty chain saw last night. I was getting quite stably. He has just told me he'll be away next Saturday night, so I'll have the bed to myself!!

At this point you say - either you drink that and sleep on the sofa or you stop drinking now and sleep in the bed. (door stop inside the room?)

I sympathise - we've had separate rooms for years now due to DH snoring.

I have every type of ear plug known to man including custom made ones from a sound engineer! OP the black metal ones you refer to I find too uncomfortable to sleep in.

The best ones I've found are sponge, shaped like a bell. You roll them into matchsticks, pop them in your ear and hold in until they've expanded. You can literally feel the world and the awful snoring melting away. Definitely try them! Boots or any pharmacy should have...

Silicon earplugs
White noise on loud in the background

It's the only way I sleep these days.

When he's been drinking though he has to sleep elsewhere as the bed vibrates and he puffs out massive breaths of rancid air in my face too. Can't be dealing with that.

I find the nasal sprays from boots for snoring very good - ie for OH to use. They take up to 2 weeks to be fully effective to be honest but I probably have issues every 3 or 4 weeks or when he has had a drink when he is using the sprays and more frequently when not. He is smoking alot less at the moment and hasn't had to use them for a while but would be straight back to using them if he started again - and yes it was bad enough was getting only 1 to 2 hrs etc.

I used to buy them on 3 for 2 as they are about 15 quid for the larger bottle

Kanelbullar · 27/01/2019 16:43

My dh is a terrible snorer after red wine or beer. I feel for you - it's so irritating. The only thing that has worked is nasal dilators. He ordered them from Amazon and they are fantastic. Might be worth a look to save your sanity Smile

This is why we have separate rooms!
