To worry or not to worry

Please don’t flame me for posting on mumsnet instead of seeking medical advice - I just want to sound out some opinions.

For a couple of days I’ve been feeling tight chested. It’s worse when I breathe deeply or cough and when I lie down. I’m also feeling dizzy and woozy when I stand up or move. I’m still able to get on and do my normal day to day stuff while feeling like this though I’m not doing anything too strenuous. My heart rate is normal - pulse is not racing or anything. I have started the blood sugar diet this week so have been eating less calories, but I’ve had a day off today and have eaten normally so I don’t think it’s due to not eating enough.

Basically my question is should I be worried? Are these worrying chest symptoms or not? I know I could phone 111 but I’m fairly sure that as soon as I mention tightness in the chest they will go straight to heart attack and ambulance and I could really do without being in A and E on a Saturday night unless it’s really necessary

Just to add I’m female and in my early 30s. No health issues apart from being overweight. Also recently had a load of blood tests done and nothing abnormal on any blood counts

It’s not going to be a heart attack that’s been going on for 2 days is it??
Ring 111 for medical advice you muppet!

BedraggledBlitz · 26/01/2019 22:31

Noone can tell you whether to worry or not. Anyone with medical knowledge would give same advice as 111. Hope you feel better soon.

BabyYawns · 26/01/2019 22:33

Ring 111. Chest pain isn't necessarily cardiac but you could have a pulmonary embolism (clot in one of of the blood vessels around your lungs). Are you on the pill? That would make it more likely

ChariotsofFish · 26/01/2019 22:34

See a Dr, but if you’re coughing it sounds like a chest infection.

BabyYawns · 26/01/2019 22:35

The pain being worse on breathing deeply could also suggest a PE. You need a proper medical assessment

grenadezombie · 26/01/2019 22:38

I'm baffled as to why this is a question Confused

Hiphopopotamus · 26/01/2019 22:42

It’s a question because apart from these symptoms I don’t feel unwell and I’m able to get on and do things! I don’t have a persistent cough and the feeling in my chest is just a tightness not a pain. I’m just trying to work out whether I just need an early night or whether I need to brave a very busy a and e in the city on a Saturday night

I still don't get it?

Everyone who is ill feels fine and well apart from their symptoms 🤷🏻‍♀️

BabyYawns · 26/01/2019 22:46

Get off Mumsnet and ring 111 FGS!

LeopardPrintOwl · 26/01/2019 22:48

It's probably nothing serious if you can get on with your normal daily activities, I would ring my GP Monday morning and get an appointment.
But if you're worried as others have said, call 111 now and put your mind at rest! Thanks

RedWineIsFabulous · 26/01/2019 22:50

Why are you asking?

If you’re worried phone 111
