Divorce and lodger

Friend divorcing husband and has a 6 year old DS

They have a lodger whose good friend of both, friend wants lodger to leave, friends DH won’t let lodger move out, so lodger won’t go?

Friend is sleeping downstairs in lounge.

Lodger has a bedroom, and has mentioned is awaiting a room to become available, latest room available and lodger not moving at all until house is sold?

Friend is in despair sleeping on sofa in her own house, she owns 50% of house?

DH doesn’t agree and told lodger to stay until house is sold. Lodger room is clutter and needs decorating which is why she needs to move out ASAP.

Friend at a lost at what to do?

Divorcing online without a lawyer when there's a child & properly involved is utterly irresponsible and foolish! She is now facing the consequences of that.

She can't make the lodger leave if there's no such agreement for that to happen and the exh has a share in the house wtf was she thinking?!

She should just tell the lodger to move out, serve them notice in writing and give them a month to find somehere else. She as the joint owner of the house is his land lady and it doesn't matter what the husband says.

If they don't move out by the end of the month I would pay a removal service to box up stuff and change locks. Worth her looking up legalities of evicting a lodger - lodgets are different to tenants and effectively don't have any legal rights. Lodger would presumably be breaking and entering a house they had been given notice on. Hopefully they would take the hint way before it came to that.

In the meantime dad goes in son's room and she goes in main room with son (get another lock on that door too.

How horrible.
