Bold fail

Hobbes8 · 23/01/2019 23:39

whiteworld I don’t know what that means. Val Kilmer was properly beautiful in the 80s but looks older (in a normal sort of way) now, eg gained some weight, features sagged a bit. He had cancer. I think, so that can’t help. He still looks good for his age though.

Rob Lowe though....what the hell is hos secret?

RedForShort · 23/01/2019 23:40

No he hasn't. She looks great.

He looks like he's got the personality of an unfriendly rabid rat on coke.

RedForShort · 23/01/2019 23:42

On a tangent, has Tim Cruise had the same hairstyle for the last 30 years?

JaneJeffer · 23/01/2019 23:42

She has such a lovely face.

Rob Lowe - definite portrait in his attic!

Villainess · 23/01/2019 23:43

On a related note, I see that John Travolta has finally been weaned off those awful toupees of his!

Kelly McGillis and Anthony Edwards - aged like normal people.

Tom Cruise - shiny, laden with Botox and fillers.

Val Kilmer - impossible to tell! It kind of looks like his face has aged but he still has the hair of a 25 year old from 1991.

Thisisthelaststraw · 23/01/2019 23:50

Kelly is beautiful.

Tom is an obnoxious little fart!

Tom Cruise - plastic surgery. He had a good surgeon, not too obvious, unlike his first wife, who looks like a replica made by someone who heard her described down a bad phone line

Now. All Botoxed out.

Anapurna · 24/01/2019 00:01

Grrrr

Wrong image.

pallisers · 24/01/2019 00:02

That photo of her is lovely. If she coloured her hair she would look younger than her age. She looks like a lovely 60 year old woman. Just as she looked like a (stunningly) lovely 20 something woman in Witness etc.

I think all those hollywood stars trying to look like their 35 year old selves are making a big mistake. It always looks fake - even if the botox etc is nicely done.

Lalliella · 24/01/2019 00:05

Nasty thread. ODFOD

CardinalCat · 24/01/2019 00:08

I guess it depends on what you find attractive and what kind of qualities appeal to you in a person, and how that may be portrayed through their appearance.

I'd take the looks of a person who has defied the trappings of OTT vanity, with a twinkle in her beautiful eyes, over some saccharine looking control-freak, cult-shagging poison dwarf anyday.

Sparklesocks · 24/01/2019 00:09

Well first of all commenting on how people age is pretty shitty, eventually we’ll all have tits at our knees and saggy, wrinkly skin so critiquing others for it isn’t very nice. It’ll be you one day.

Second of all Tom has clearly had Botox/fillers/general cosmetic help to retain his youth - not to mention a personal trainer and no doubt a nutritionist (and god only knows what Scientology provide him with!).

Third of all, Hollywood has zero tolerance for aging women. A woman with wrinkles is no good to them. Yes there are a few ‘distinguished’ older actresses out there but generally once you’re beyond playing young women you’re past it and out on your arse. Men though- wrinkles and age make them interesting character actors. Although looks are still important, they don’t need to go to the same lengths actresses do to retain their careers. It seems mean spirited to play into that narrative but making threads like this, which is basically pointing out someone’s appearance isn’t what it used to be.

CardinalCat · 24/01/2019 00:12

^and I have nothing against cosmetic surgery- I've had botox done in the past and it made me feel good, for a while, and then i got lazy. It's just such a shame that women who look great and are enjoying and embracing their biological age can be adversely set against a person who not only has gone to huge artificial lengths to alter their looks, but looks like a plonker as a result.

BartonHollow · 24/01/2019 00:17

Kelly McGillis is 61 and has aged appropriately

Tom Cruise is some kind of vampire who has obviously had a lot of assistance to not look 56

His refusal to accept ageing will probably kill him because he'll continue to do dangerous stunts because he believes he is magically blessed due to Scientology

The original point of this thread defines mean spirited

Who are you apologising to Ana? If by definition "letting yourself go" (a hateful phrase btw) means "not giving a shiny fuck what people think", then I highly doubt that your post will hurt Kelly's feelings to any great extent.

Sparklesocks · 24/01/2019 00:39

Anapurna I don’t think that she, or anyone else, cares what you think.

Just a heads up that aging is inevitable.

Villainess · 24/01/2019 00:39

'let herself go'

Oh come on. If anything she's the one who's held on to who she really is. Unlike Tom!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/01/2019 00:47

I dont think Kelly has aged badly.
Her skin looks beautiful and her eyes bright and glowing. She just looks very different.
On another note. John Travolta has gone better looking

MissLadyM · 24/01/2019 00:49

What a nasty thread. We're so used to seeing false plastic faces that we've lost sight of normal ageing. She looks lovely and has clearly decided she has no fucks to give!
