To ask how you eat your creme egg....

Having a discussion with my 14 year old sister earlier about the best way to eat a creme egg.... so I’m intrigued fellow mumsnetters how do you eat yours? (Those who like them obviously)

I usually bite the top off, lick the inside, eat the walls around until the bottom where I lick the remainder filling and then eat the choc after 😂😂

Chocolate first Grin

Raisinbrain · 24/01/2019 09:59

It's a messy operation.

babycatcher411 · 24/01/2019 10:04

Depends how much time I’ve got, and in what company.

Alone, with time- Freeze, eat chocolate from round the outside, then eat fondant.

Alone, eating straight away- Break down the join line, scrape out fondant with one half of the egg shell, eat half without fondant. Eat half with fondant- usually nibbling down the chocolate as much as I can without getting fondant on my fingers.

In company- Take normal bites. Pretend to be normal and eat like a normal person.

SilverySurfer · 24/01/2019 10:18

I don't - they are full of palm oil and taste of shit.

bananaramaspyjamas · 24/01/2019 10:26

Same as you OP Smile

GertrudeWilloughby · 24/01/2019 10:30

Put it in the bin. They're vile.

Fatbutt · 24/01/2019 10:34

I'm Aries and I Ram it in... (early 90's reference to one of their adverts...!)

cobblett36 · 24/01/2019 10:36

Same way as you before they destroyed them. Had one Sunday and I put it in the bin, it tasted like mud.

R.I.P creme eggs. Sad

SlipperyLizard · 24/01/2019 11:32

I used to get so excited at creme egg time of year, now I get excited for a nanosecond before remembering that all Cadbury’s chocolate is now gross.

Treaclepie19 · 24/01/2019 11:34

Same as you!
I only buy the boxes now though... can't deal with the germs.

wendywoopywoo222 · 24/01/2019 11:35

I don't like them. They are too sickly sweet and it's very rare I say that about anything.

steff13 · 24/01/2019 11:36

Bite off the top, lick the inside out, then finish the shell.

CoraPirbright · 24/01/2019 11:36

Tied down and shrieking for help?

Creme eggs are the devils bollocks Envy

MayFayner · 24/01/2019 11:37

I don’t anymore, since they turned gross.

SadSadSad

HRTpatch · 24/01/2019 11:38

Vile things. So sweet and greasy

Chewinggumwalk · 24/01/2019 11:47

I don’t buy Cadbury chocolate now. Palm oil plus not paying fair tax plus changing sizes and recipes and prices = fuck off, Cadbury!

Sorry OP, not the light hearted chat you were after Smile

bellabasset · 24/01/2019 11:49

They're revolting, far too sweet. Basically I try not to buy Cadburys at all. Looks like I'm not alone.

SoWhat21 · 24/01/2019 11:52

This has upset me! It’s a travesty what has happened to Creme Eggs. I miss them

MacarenaFerreiro · 24/01/2019 11:57

I don't eat them any more because Cadbury have ruined the chocolate.

Nowadays it's like putting a blob of wax in your mouth. Cadbury's American owners have totally ruined the chocolate.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/01/2019 12:55

Last year I made 'Scotch Eggs' with creme eggs - I made a soft mixture of cake crumbs, digestive crumbs, cocoa, syrup and melted chocolate, formed it into a ball around the creme eggs, and rolled them in digestive crumbs to make them look like scotch eggs.

They were very rich - most of us could only manage half of one!

To ask how you eat your creme egg....
SilverySurfer · 24/01/2019 14:16

It's hardly surprising that the American owners have fucked up Cadburys- American chocolate tastes of vomit. Try a Hershey bar if you don't believe me.

ShatnersWig · 24/01/2019 14:20

Another one who used to eat dozens of the things and now won't touch one. And I'm still really bitter about it.

TrollQueen · 24/01/2019 14:23

@Sophisticatedsarcasm

Have you tried biting them through the middle and just letting all the creme spurt in your mouth? 🤔

Sophisticatedsarcasm · 24/01/2019 15:30

I also only buy the boxes, screw the thought of someone opening it up too look, I also worked at wolves and used to see parents give them to thier children to please them then put them back with half the foil ripped...
@trollqueen I have done that before however at this time of year the fondant is a bit more thicker with it being cold so licking it is 😊
