To wonder how self-employed people go on holiday?

I have just set up a small cleaning business and am self-employed. I am building up my clients slowly. We have booked a holiday for a couple of months time and now I am panicking that my clients will leave me and go elsewhere if I'm not able to offer my services during the week that I'm away.

How the heck do people who offer services needed weekly/daily, go on holiday? I'm thinking cleaners, dog walkers, childminders, etc, etc. What do your clients do whilst you're away?

Our cleaner goes on holiday for a month every summer to visit family and it has never crossed my mind to find a new cleaner, l'm just very keen for her to return each year! (I do clean in that month, I don't just leave it for her)

She is lovely, honest and great at her job. Her holiday is just the equivalent of me taking all my annual leave in one go. Good on her I say!

If you're a good clean we then no one will sneak off and find another cleaner. My cleaner goes away a couple of times a year and I'm happy for her to go. She's worth her weight in gold and a trusted key holder to my home. I even pay her when she's away.

Husband is self employed. He had a few minions to check the post and works remotely.

Also my cleaner frequently went away. She was great. I really didn’t care about a month or so a year.
