I've got a night out planned for Friday night and I'm terrified.
I don't know why but I am.
All day constantly thoughts in my head.
You won't sleep well Thursday night
You will feel sick and your heart will race Friday and you won't enjoy it
Your gonna have to cancel Friday and your friend will hate you and think your unreliable.
I'm so sick of this..
For about 6 months now all day long I've felt terrified for no reason (that feeling before something your doing that scares you is happening"
I've been feeling sick every day and before I leave home my heart beats so fast,my back is on fire and sweating.
What's happening to me?
Can I stop this?
I want to go out Friday :-(

You have to speak to your GP.

There is more going on here then just having nerves about a night out. Have you suffered with any kind of mental illness before? Please, speak to your GP as soon as you can. No one should feel like this and leaving it may mean it gets worse.

kellybrian · 22/01/2019 15:21

In the past yes.
I thought I had gotten over it.

Anxiety

literategiraffe · 22/01/2019 15:31

Definitely make a GP appointment.

This sounds like me when I was sick with anxiety. I could see that my behaviour and reactions were irrational but I couldn't push past them or explain them. It was awful and scary. I ended up having private counselling sessions and they helped immensely. I was able to spill my guts without feeling judged and my counsellor gave me some wonderful coping techniques for dealing with my anxiety. I feel so much better now and I still use a few of the techniques now when I'm feeling a bit panicky or overwhelmed.

GherkinPickle91 · 22/01/2019 15:34

I suffered a lot last year, had to see an emergency counsellor and have medication, which I’m still on today.

It sounds a lot like anxiety and if you’ve suffered before, you definitely must see a doctor.

Don’t feel like you’ve failed because this has happened again.

You were strong enough to get better before, you’ll do it again - With help.

Definitely anxiety OP. See your GP & buy yourself CBT for Dummies (Amazon £6.99).. It teaches you coping strategies & how to deal with negative thoughts & catastrophising. It helped massively for my social phobia. I still get the odd bit of nerves socially, but i'm not a total panicky mess.

Kko1986 · 22/01/2019 16:34

OP it does sound like anxiety however go to the doctors you dont have to be dominated by it you can be in control . Csiblonde I love that idea I may have to get that myself

kellybrian · 22/01/2019 17:57

Please be kind to yourself go and see the doctor anxiety is a horrible thing it does so much to us but you can get through this the best bit of advice I was ever given was be kind to yourself x

SuchAToDo · 23/01/2019 11:06

Op i felt like this all through school and college, I don't know why, or what I was anxious or scared of but I went to the dr (couldn't explain to him about feeling so scared and anxious) so I just told him I was having nausea/vomiting , diarrhoeaa, constipation, etc)...tests after test came back clear, I think they suspected it was anxiety related, but gave me anti sickness medication and anti diarrhoea medication...and that helped me mentally because when I took it I could say to myself that no matter how anxious I feel, I won't vomit or have diarrhoea because I've took the pills...and after awhile I started needing the pills less, until I rarely take them...

I've been where you are, and there are the rare occasions when I still feel as you do, but 99% of the time I feel back to normal, so op there is light at the end of the tunnel...

Also op keep a diary so you can figure out if there are certain people, places or situations triggering this or making it worse...if there are, and you can avoid them then you should , (don't be around people, situations or situations that are making you feel ill)

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 23/01/2019 11:08

No it is not normal. That’s why you need to see your GP.

Hope you feel better soon.

Pk37 · 23/01/2019 11:20

Sounds like social anxiety.
I have this to an extent but for the most part I can push through and I’m ok once out but I have cancelled other things because I’ve wound myself up so much that I’d feel ill.
I can’t say “go and get help” because that would be hypocritical of me as I never have but you should or you will just suffer like I do most days
