"Glitter tits" AIBU to think the people running this are dangerously stupid?

The event, to paint on your breasts, has been advertised to "all self identified women"

So, in an attempt to be woke, the venue will let in anyone who says they're a woman, no questions asked.

AIBU to think the venue are stupid if they think it's not an invitation for pervs to come along and get off on women's boobs.

Not everyone cup of tea, but I can see it could even be fun with mates. But not if there are strange men there, no way!

Ever painted with you fingers, hands, even feet? Well how about your bare chest!

In this fabulous body positive mindful art workshop, we'll be exploring how the simplicity of print making with the body, contrasts to the heavy fetishization of the female form in the media.

For far too long, women's breasts have been sexualised, idealised and airbrushed, a source of controversy and body image woes.

So we're inviting all of you wonderful self-identifying women, to come and join us for an uplifting evening of mindul art making, to take back that body ownership, to create your very own art prints using paint, eco-glitter and yep, that's right, your bare chest!

Glasses of prosecco and fancy juice will be also available!

How revolting. Sad

Ellie56 · 20/01/2019 20:48

What a load of bollocks. Hmm

And I second the above poster who said there would be complete tits in attendance.

What next?

delboysskinandblister · 20/01/2019 20:48

Dress down Friday's really gone down hill.

PositivelyPERF · 20/01/2019 20:52

I’m just picturing a room full of perverse blokes with their mobs painted, looking very disappointed as the women have went, “fuck that”.

OlennasWimple · 20/01/2019 20:55

Painting with your tits or on your tits?

Jebuschristchocolatebar · 20/01/2019 20:55

@timetostepup I’m loving it- so woke your brain fell out GrinGrinGrin

DangermousesSidekick · 20/01/2019 20:55

They could, I dunno, support a breastfeeding group instead. That's taking breasts out of the sexualised context. Why do I think that's not going to happen.

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 20/01/2019 20:56

Gee, all this time I thought being a woman was far more complex than having glitter on my tits. After all these years, I guess I got it all wrong. I must not really know what being a woman is all about. Hmm

Juells · 20/01/2019 20:56

But it's not aimed at women, is it? A bit confusing, but isn't it only for people who identify as women. So not real boobs. Which naturally are not in any way sexualised or fetishised.

Steamedbadger · 20/01/2019 20:56

Sounds truly dreadful either way. Do they run a class for glittery todgers (actual todger not essential, obvs) too?

AngryAttackKittens · 20/01/2019 20:56

It's Brian from Hull's dream event! Are we sure he hasn't moved to Manchester?

lottiegarbanzo · 20/01/2019 20:57

Well, since women don't need to 'self-identify' as women, no-one would be expecting there to be any natural breasts in attendance, would they? Just fake and aspirational boobage, surely?

BreconBeBuggered · 20/01/2019 21:01

Who - of whatever sex or gender identity - wants to be finding glitter inside their clothing foreverbloodymore? That shit never goes away.

AngryAttackKittens · 20/01/2019 21:01

They definitely need a paint with your glittery cock event (which will have about as many women at it as this one will). Glitter under the foreskin, sounds like fun!

BiologyMatters · 20/01/2019 21:03

What sort of weird exhibitionist would you have to be to go to this event and paint with your boobs in a room full of people? Like the people that paint with menstrual blood.

timetostepup · 20/01/2019 21:05

Loads of people told the organisers what a bad idea this is. So they deleted the tweet, and readvertised it.

They might be pervs, but I suspect they're more likely wilfully naive woke crew.

It seems to me, the woke brigade are advertising their naivety like a beacon. And sadly, those who would want to take advantage of that will see that very clearly.

People like this are dangerously stupid I reckon.

Absolutely ridiculous.
Who thinks this stuff up? And HOW do they think it up?
Are people sitting around discussing putting on a community event and someone comes up with an idea "Hey, what about a boob painting event - people could paint their boobs and put glitter on them and make art work!" And everyone else says, "Yeah, that's brilliant".
And then of course someone says "Make sure you put self-identifying women and not just women on the poster because we don't want to exclude anyone"

Or was it a bunch of blokes in the pub who thought it would be oh so hilarious.

AngryAttackKittens · 20/01/2019 21:06

Every tweet for a Woke event should have "What could possibly go wrong?" at the bottom.

timetostepup · 20/01/2019 21:06

isn't it only for people who identify as women

The advert shows real boobs. They think they're being inclusive. It's for real women and also those who identify as women, so as not to leave out the poor oppressed men who want to spend an afternoon looking at young women's breasts.

Who thinks this stuff up? And How do they think it up?

It's part of the sex positive movement I imagine. Which is also all about dressing up men's paraphilias as perfectly normal (don't kink shame me, kay?) and making sure men don't have any sanctions for visiting prostitutes.

OP posts:
lottiegarbanzo · 20/01/2019 21:09

There's real and 'real'. Surgically-created boobs are not fictional.

MrsDesireeCarthorse · 20/01/2019 21:13

Oh my god what a crock of shite. Nobody takes back ownership of anything by painting with their tits.

I actually assumed this was a piss-take.

carrotflinger · 20/01/2019 21:18

Thank you for explaining that! The sex positive movement hasn't reached the country I live in yet. Maybe I should start one up - I am sure the people here would love a glitter tits event.
Lots of the men visit the local brothel here as this is all legal - so we don't need to ensure they don't have any sanctions for that... BUT I think the glitter tits idea would be good - I bet there are loads of men here who would love to self-identify as women.

ChesterGreySideboard · 20/01/2019 21:19

Self identifying business aside why the fuck would anyone want to paint glitter on their tits?

MulticolourMophead · 20/01/2019 21:27

Self identifying business aside why the fuck would anyone want to paint glitter on their tits?

Weirdos.

I mean, if I get a stray hair stuck in my bra near the nipples, it's just soooo massively itchy. God knows what glitter whould be like.
